photographers! (i know i know)

I've done searches for photographers but I really would appreciate your opinions. I want to set a realistic budget when choosing a photographer but I also want one that could capture our day and personalities. I am also looking for a videographer and am wondering if I should try to book them together.

Some info: I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY. I am not into edgy or theatrical photographs; a more candid and photojournalistic style appeals to me more. (I want to see photographs of my FH and I being silly; making faces at one another). I am also looking for a wedding video that won't have any cartoons or cute graphics...just pleasantly edited. I would like to set a budget of 4,500- 5,000 for both...is this realistic? I am so clueless when it comes to prices.

I've looked up
Natasha Staszak...and loved her work..but find her too expensive for our budget. I've also looked at Duet and Patken. Girls...ANY advice would be greatly appreciated.

right angle studios.. george is really good.. im using him and my girlfriend used him for her wedding at landsend

I think your budget is definitely doable. Many people recommend Duet, so I'd definitely check them out. We are using Velvet Studios. We just clicked w/ Bob and loved his work. We are using them for photo and video. FM me if you want more info.

I'm right there with you... I'll probably take as many pictures at our wedding as our photographers - I just enjoy it too much not to have a camera on hand for something like this.

We're going with Duet - check out their website. I think their prices are right in range with your budget...with 2 photographers (color & b&w) and a videographer.

I think it's a good idea to get your videographer with your photographer so they work together well, seamlessly...and then your album and video will have a similar feel as well.

You must check out Leli Photography. I have some pics in my communikty album and he DOES not use cartoon in his video's.......I dont think they do that anymore...do they?

His pics are amazing and he is amazing to work with and his prices are reasonable!

haha...i don't know about the cartoon usage. My cousin got married in 02 and i defintely saw a cinderella!!

Although I'm not using them, I've heard terrific things about Patkin. Not sure on pricing though.

i love the photojournalist, natural pics too... i'm using jimmy from fine art (there's another LIW bride on here who used him) her pics are amazing!!!! if you do a search for jimmy, fine art-- they will come up.
also, i really liked imagine studios work... very impressive.
