Good morning ladies, I just need to vent.

I went to that bridal show last night that I had mentioned last week and I had a great time. I took my FI, his mom, 2 aunts and sister who also is getting married but not until 2008. This really was a bad move. Considering the bridal show was held in the catering hall where we booked our wedding, our banquet manager called us into the office the minute he saw us to let us know that he was changing our room as long as that’s what we wanted. Upon hearing the news I got excited because the room is absolutely beautiful and more spacious compared to the other and for our Viennese Hr. he is going to open the walls to the tables as appose to wheel them in. I love it being done that way, I have seen it done in the past and it truly makes an amazing show. So right before we were about to leave, my FI wanted to show everyone the room and once we went in there I noticed that they had changed the carpets. And all I said was that I wasn’t too crazy about it, but it will just have to do and I figured that once the room is all done that I’m sure it would look nice. Then all of a sudden my FMI turned around to her sisters and said what is it that this girl wants? How dare she want to be in charge of everything? Ladies, I can’t take her anymore! I invited her out of the kindness of heart and to spend time with them thinking that they may appreciate it and instead I get this. she hurt me so much last night. And the funny thing is that its my wedding and I should do as I please how I please considering that FI and I are paying for everything. I’m sorry to just blab away, but I’m just so annoyed with her right now and have no one to confide in. Well thanks for listening……

It's hard when people (especially in laws) make comments that aren't nice or asked for!!! Feel free to vent anytime you need to, I do it often!!!

Always here to listen. Keep your chin up. I know it's difficult but try not to listen to them. They don't think when they speak.

There is always going to be a Negative Nelly around when planning a wedding.. It's YOUR day and if you are paying for it then no one else should have any say!!

According to FI, his mother will always have something to complain about so he tells me to just ignore her.

I'm so sorry that you had to go through this. It's unfortunate how ppl. feel they can just make comments about your wedding and get away with it.

I know it's hard to ignore stuff like this but u have to try because if u mull over it and let it get u down then she's won. If i were u i just wouldn't ask her to come along next time - u don't need that kind negativity and rudeness when you're planning the biggest day fo your life. Just forget what she said and keep planning your wedding YOUR way

So then just TRY to ignore - it hurts, but you just have to try to ignore it and pretend like you didnt hear it

oh i can relate i have a FMIL like that. I hope I have better luck tonight. Im going to a show at my hall with FI, Mom, Grandma, Sister(MOH) and FMIL.Wish me luck!!!!!!
