Have any of you girls tried the South Beach Diet??

I know there have been some threads on this site for it but I was just wondering if any of you girls that I talk to everyday have tried it? I want to lose like 10-15 pounds. I overheard someone talking about it at my hair salon today and I wanted to know if it worked or is working for anyone here. Do you have to work out a lot with it too?? I used to go to the gym every night, but I have no time anymore and only make it there like twice a week so I was hoping this diet would help! I want to go buy the book tomorrow if this really does work!
Thanks!

Hey Chrissy!
One of my BM is on it and she lost 20 pounds in a month. I believe there is 3 stages and the first one is the hardest, no carbs! But, she swears by it and I heard from other people that it is a great way to diet.

I know, but she was heavy and I think that is why it came off so quickly. She cut her food intake by half at least and did not drink a drop of alcohol.
The thing with SB and any other diet is, it is a way of life and once you stop, you go back to the way you were unless you keep up with it. She has been on this diet 3 times already.

Re: Have any of you girls tried the South Beach Diet??

I started this diet about 2 years ago. I have had NO problems with it. I have lost about 20 pounds on it - and the best part is that if you 'fall off' you can always go back to Phase 1. The diet loses the 'diet' name - and becomes more of a way of life....at least for me it did!

Re: Have any of you girls tried the South Beach Diet??

barnes and nobles has the south beach diet book...in the book it will give you different recipes and meals or snacks you can eat in each stage.

i bought the book, but only did it for a few days...my body needs carbs and i was getting sick from not eating any carbs, plus i dont cook enough to make all the meals they were descriping...

good luck!

Re: Have any of you girls tried the South Beach Diet??

Yes it definitley works. My mom was on it and lost about 15-20 pounds. You have to eat exactly what it tells you though.

Re: Have any of you girls tried the South Beach Diet??

I tried it my senior year in college and it worked. i lost about 10-15 pounds, but i gained all of it back and now im on jenny craig. i can't not eat carbs, it just doesn't work for me. plus in the first stage you can't have any fruit and that was so hard for me.

Re: Have any of you girls tried the South Beach Diet??

IT works really well you just have to stick with it. I got down to 125 pounds, but once I stopped I ballooned up again.

Re: Have any of you girls tried the South Beach Diet??

I suggest weight watchers....you don't cut out one food group....and its balanced..and recommended by doctors. I so far have lost 25 pounds...and that has been over the course of two months.

Its healthy...also...I will sometimes eat south beach bars or meals because they are conducive to my diet...

But as for knowing the South Beach diet...I don't know much about it...

Re: Have any of you girls tried the South Beach Diet??

I tried the southbeach diet and I did not lose one pound. I think its because I don't eat that many carbs to begin with. My family is from Argentina and we are very big on steak. The only way I can lose weight is through exercise. A few months ago I did an hour of walking on the treadmill and I watched what I ate for about 3 days and I lost 5 pounds. I was so amazed. Of course I haven't been on the treadmill once since then but I plan on doing it soon. My cousin can lose 10 pounds with 7 days of using the treadmill but she runs on it for an hour. I don't know how she does it.
