Re: For Brides that are getting Married at Reception Hall??

My FI and I are scheduled to arrive at the ceremony site/reception hall at 10am ... our ceremony is at 12 noon. My photographer says this should be plenty of time.... I hope so!

Hope this info helps!

Good luck and fun planning!

I will be getting ready at the reception hall. Supposed to arrive around 8am for my 11 am ceremony. I really did not want to miss my cocktail hour.

Re: For Brides that are getting Married at Reception Hall??

FI and i will not see each other before the ceremony. Because we have such a 'GRAND' entrance into our reception, we don't want anyone to see us before then

Not married yet, but I have heard so many past brides say that they missed there whole CH because of photos. We are having a calypso band play, so we wanted to make sure that we are at our CH.

Re: For Brides that are getting Married at Reception Hall??

i'm in the minority here i guess. i will NOT be seeing FH before the ceremony. just something that we didn't want to do. our BP is rather small--so we plan on all staying at a hotel the nite b4 the wedding. then FH will take pics at the hotel with the BP. he will then go back to his room or the limo or something--while i take pics with the BP. then the boys will leave. i'll take some more pics by myself and such. then we'll handle our romantics and together shots during the CH.

i planned on missing the CH anyway, cause for my family's tradition, the CH is for the guests and the couple should not be seen again until they are announced at the reception. (maybe it's a cultural thing--i dunno.) but i really think we'll have enough time.

Re: For Brides that are getting Married at Reception Hall??

It was really important for us not to see each other before the ceremony. we have a pretty small BP so we're hoping we can get all our pics in during the CH. We've resolved ourselves to the fact that we are going to miss the whole CH, but we want to make a big entrance at the reception anyway.

We were going to do this also - i had come to terms with missing the CH, and I was okay with it. I knew I'd be pushing it to get pics - and I was okay with that too. The thing that finally changed my mind was something someone else told me and it made me think: She said - the day is going to go so quickly for you, that by postponing seeing each other until the CM you are in affect taking 3 -4 more hours out of your day. That one was the one that REALLY got me and I changed my mind. Since we are having the CM and Reception at the same place, I have no way of extending the day - so the hall and our photographer will plan for our 'meeting' and we will arrive separately at slightly different times... and we will be alone for a while before even the bridal party shows up.

It was a tough thing - but I'm okay with this now.

Re: For Brides that are getting Married at Reception Hall??

There is no way Im missing the delicious food at my CH :) We decided to meet in a room by ourselves once we are all ready. Im looking forward to a quiet moment alone with DH before we head out and take pictures and have to chat up a million guests.

Why should the first time he see me be in front of 100 people? I want a quiet, romantic moment alone for him to see me in my dress.

We thought about this, but I guess we are not very superstitious. I think in a way, it'll give us more time to take pictures with us, our family and friends.

Re: For Brides that are getting Married at Reception Hall??

DH and I spent 3 hours before the ceremony taking pics (at the hall). IMO, an hour is not enough time. and you shouldn't miss any part of the wedding you have worked so hard to plan!

Same here - I just want that first time he sees me to be when I'm walking down the aisle. I think it's just a bigger impact than me just walking into a room where he sees me for the first time. We're having a early wedding, so we're doing all our 'romantic' shots alone AFTER the wedding at the beach. The cool thing about that is I plan on getting in the water with FH in our clothes (just our feet not like swimming ) but it won't matter if my dress gets wet or dirty or anything because the wedding's over.

Re: For Brides that are getting Married at Reception Hall??

We're taking pictures beforehand. It was a hard decision, but we figured better to have the extra time and to take our time with it, than rushing around because we only have the hour of the CH to take pictures.

We decided on 2 hours before the ceremony and then a half hour of the CH to get the family shots if possible.

Re: For Brides that are getting Married at Reception Hall??

Funny, I had the same type of poll a few months ago. We decided that we will see each other before the ceremony. We don't want to try and squeeze all photos into CH, bedides we have to see each other in order to sign the ketubah.

Re: For Brides that are getting Married at Reception Hall??

i didn't see dh until i walked down the aisle. the photographer came to the hotel to take pics of me with my parents and 2 sisters and the bridal party. we had enough time for pics after the ceremony. it just meant so much for dh not to see me until i walked down the aisle. i wouldn't have had it any other w ay
