I think it depends on what you want to have included. We are only having a photographer... we are getting:
Full day of coverage (no time constraints) with an assistant
1 couples album
2 parents albums
Full set of proofs
Online ordering for guests
High resolution DVD so we can make our own copies for years to come!
This will run us about $3000.

Mine is about 4500 for both photographer and video with a full day of coverage, Printed proofs, CD proofs, couple album, two parent albums, a DVD, and 3 VHS tapes.

Does anyone know if we can order albums from someone else (besides the photog) if he/she gives us the digital photos on a CD? Our quote includes a $1500 album for us, but no parent albums and I'd like to make the albums myself for a much lower cost - I'm afraid the on-line companies will know the pics are copyrighted. Has anyone experienced trouble with this? FH and I are having trouble justifying $1500 for a photo album.

My photograpger is $1200 for 8hours of unlimited pics. It doesn't include albums but I am getting 500 4x6's plus all of my photos on CD and online. I can make my own album. Her address is jenniferdavisphotograpy.com

My videographer is 1400 and is Golden Moments Films. That price includes unlimited coverage, editing 3 dvd's etc. Pat is a vendor on here.

It depends on what you are looking for.
We are using ..
Golden Moments for Video.. & he is reasonable .. and worked with us for a price with in our budget.

you can definitely order the albums online, search this site for some ideas/links, and the photos are yours to keep. If they are supplied as raw files on a CD, meaning the files are of high resolution, you can easily make photo albums out of the photos. most photographers should supply that.

1500 is also too much for an album, you can get one made for $500 or under. I'm getting mine from my photographer and he quoted $1000 for an album which I thought is on the high side but i may negotiate to lower it later... good luck!

For the girls that are posting their photographer for under $4K, who are you using? I haven't gotten a quote YET for under $4500.

But to answer the original question, I'm paying $2,800 for video...photo isn't booked yet, as you can tell

I am using Video Express Productions and I am very happy with his work and know he will do a great job on my wedding. I am paying $3400.00 for BOTH photo and video.

I am paying $5,000.00 for photo & video. 2 photographers and 1 Video guy. 1 magazine style couple album, 2 parents books, engagement shoot, proofs, proofs on cd, 2 11x14's, 14 5x7's to give to the bridal party and all of my thank you cards. Video includes everything also.
