Cost of DIY invites?

For girls that have done their own invites, how much do they cost?

Is it significant savings over printed ones?

I think mine will end up costing about $300 for 100 invites plus postage. I did my invite based on a sample that would have cost over $5 each so I am saving at LEAST $200 (probably more because that was just the base price). I know there are inexpensive invites that you might be able to get for less then this, but IMO they were kind of plain. It's going to be a lot of work, but so far I am having a lot of fun designing it!! Good luck!

Well I paid $35 per box of 50 ( I needed 2 boxes)

it had invites, response cards & inner & outer lined envelopes

Then it took about 2 ink catridges to print it out
figure $25 each

and I have to get computer calligraphy on the envelopes & I am shopping around for the best prices--so far its been 1.00 -1.50 per envelope

I searched all over for invites in catalogs & on may many many sites & wasn't really thrilled with the options I saw

very typical & a few I liked & thought were unique were extremely $$$$

It was fun to do them & I liked more DIY style choices then the more common options

Have you checked out paper-source.com? Someone recommended it on these boards, and I think this is how I am going to handle my DIY invites -the sets are gorgoeus and seem to range from 50-135 for 50 invites.
