Need donation favor info....

DH's cousin wants to do it and I thought I read somewhere there was a mandatory amount for American Cancer Society, and it was $$$$.

Anyone who did it with ACS or otherwise, can you give me some info about the costs?

Hello. We recently did a donation to the American Cancer Society for our wedding favor gifts in lieu of a traditional favor. If you go to wedding scrolls on ACS, it will show you samples of scrolls if you're interested in getting them for your tables...you must purchase 80 and I believe it comes out to about $327.00...this includes little rings that fasten the scroll...I didn't think it was that bad..plus it's a great cause. are all societies like that? making you donate a set amount?

for example, FH would like to donate for breast cancer, since his mother has it, but since he is australian and i am american we are doing half the amount for an australian society and half for an american society. i was going to make the scrolls myself.

has anyone made the scrolls themselves?

Oh, so you just purchase the # of scolls you need in lots of 80 and that's the donation?

When I contacted the American Cancer Society they said I just let them know how many scrolls I need and they send them then you give whatever donation you would like.

When you go direct through American Cancer Society, they are $3.00 each with a minimum of 80 scrolls. The total for 80 with the printing fee and shipping & handling is $327.50 (click for other amounts ) I was going to go through them but we're thinking about also making a donation to something else. So, I am going to make a general donation through ACS (click for that info ) and to the other organization, not 100% decided on what yet, and then I am going to make my own scrolls. You can buy the little metal rings in a craft store for next to nothing. I think it's like $3 or $4 for 150 of them. HTH
