squatters to my ceremony?

I have some 'nosy' employees in my company who are aware that I am gettign married. I work indirectly with them (same Department, different group).

We are having a very small and private wedding. (30 people).

One of the employee asked me what she could wear if she was to attend the ceremony and sit in the back.

I am thinking 'WHAT?????' As a hint, I started very 'vaguely' that you cannot kick people out of a church to attend your wedding, blah blah blah but I am being married in a chapel of a hall. NOT SO PUBLIC!!!! She did not get the hint. So I told her nobody wearing jeans is going to come to my wedding. Of course, I did not tell her where I am getting married.

I can't believe she wants to squat my ceremony. I am only having close friends and family. It's going to look odd in the small chapel.

Did it happen to you?

BTW.... I did tell her how many people were attending.

Re: squatters to my ceremony?

A lot of people end up asking people to the ceremony because they can't have them all at the reception.

My mom has gone to several friends ceremony's to see them and congratulate them, but was not invited to the reception.

It's pretty common, but maybe she didn't realize you were having such a small wedding.

Re: squatters to my ceremony?

I've gone to the ceremony at the church a few times for people who's weddings I wasn't invited to (relatives of relatives, family friends, etc.) If it's in a church, anyone is entitled to attend.

It's not in a church. It's the hall's chapel.

Re: squatters to my ceremony?

I got that too, well I am getting married at a church. But I told people at work that we were having a small fam. wedding. And some ppl were like oh can we come to the church. I just pretended like I didn't hear them or something. Its v. annoying cause you don't want to be rude, but then again they just invited themselves to your wedding.
