Omg, we had one heck of a night!! Hospital VENT (kinda long)!!!
First things first, everyone is FINE!!!!!! I've give you a lil background, FH and I live in Hauppauge and his daughter lives in Flushing with her mom, her FH, and his daughter.Last night I was at my mom's house when FH called me saying he had to go to the hospital because his daughter needed stitches in her foot.
So he picked me up and off we went to LI Jewish Hospital. Turns out she had a snow globe on her dresser that fell onto her foot and cut her really deep in 2 places, so her mom and her fiance washed it out, wrapped it up, and took her to the ER.
We met them there, this is about 9pm, and we're sitting in the waiting room. OMG!!!!!
They didn't take her into triage until like 2 hours later, and then we waited some more. She knows she needs stitches and like any kid she's freaking out about them, she's gotten them before but still, you know.
FINALLY at 12.45am they call her name and they go in (mind you only her birth parents were allowed). So now we're coming up on 2am and my FH comes out to say that they just took X-rays and that it's stilll going to 'be awhile', meaning like a few more hours.
At this point it's decided that we should leave bc we don't all need to be losing sleep when we have work in the morning. So her mom's fiance left his car there so that they can get home later and Kevin drove him home, then he takes me to my mom's house to pick up my car. By the time we got home and in bed it was like 3:30am.

What a night!! My FH just came in and told me that that's about the time that they got out, she needed 16 stitches. He feels bad leaving early so he's on his way to her house now, she really wants to see him and I know he'll feel better once he sees her. Like I said, everyone is fine, it's just one of those scary things that makes you want to dress your kids in bubblewrap!

wow, the poor little thing. I hope she is feeling better!yeah, the problem with going to the ER is that unless you are dying, you go to the back of the line...

Yes, the ER takes everyone in order of importance

Glad she is ok.... but thats the way the ER works... unfortunately a cut (unless you are bleeding to death!) is not high on the order of importance...

OMG Cindy!! Glad to hear that Chelsea is okay!!! Give her a hug for me!!!But yes ERs really bite the big one. The first time I was having an anaphylactic attack (which is a life threatening allergy attack) they had me waiting at Brookdale hospital for almost an hour. Someone said I was turning red and purple and I could barely breathe by the time they saw me!!

I know this doesn't help you now and hopefully you won't need it for the future, but after FH had to get stitches a few years ago, we found out there is some emergency stitches place in Nassau somewhere (I'm SO helpful, aren't I?)..they are supposedly faster and WAY less $$ then the emergency room (FH did not have insurance at the time)

I think I know what you're talking about. I sometimes go to Stat Health in Smithtown on Jericho instead of the ER. MUCH faster and a hell of a lot cheaper!!!

OK, but 'still bleeding' should be considered important.
