Re: Friday night weddings
Who cares what everyone thinks. If you wanted a Fri then thats it. You shouldn't have to explain why.

Re: Friday night weddings
My wedding is on a Sunday. People gave me a funny look too. But hey, I don't care, if they want to share in our special day, they'll be there, if not, oh well. Don't worry. It'll be fine. Don't explain yourself. It's your wedding you have it when you want.

Re: Friday night weddings
I haven't had many complaints on it, if they did, it probably went in one ear and out the other. 'I guess I won't be seeing you there then' would be my response. More food for the others who care enough! Got nothing but a big 'ol fat 'Whatever' to that.

Re: Friday night weddings
That is some BS... I know its hard but let it roll off your back. One great thing about having the wedding on a Fri. is that if you get totally hammered you have a whole two days to relax before work. there is always pros and cons and definately a silver lining - haters just like to point out the cons.

Re: Friday night weddings
I am having a Friday night wedding because it is also our 6 year anniversary. People have asked me if I am getting married on Friday to 'save $$' and I just say that 6/2 is a significant day to us. Gosh, why are people so rude? And yeah, I get a lot of 'oh.... it's a Friday?'

Re: Friday night weddings
Well ours is also on a Friday Eve. Our CH starts at 8:00, we thought we would pick the later one so people could come home from work (not have to leave early) and relax then come to the cocktail hour. So ours is 8-1. You wouldnt believe how many people questioned us on it and commented on how they hope they can stay awake. (becuase it is so common for people to fall asleep at a wedding)????It bothered me in the beginning but now I just laugh it off. It realy wasnt a price per person difference for us, it was a huge minimum different though. I am convinced that not everyone will be happy with my decisions so I might as well make them all in my favor so at least me and FH are happy.

I totally understand. I am getting married THIS Friday and some of the guests even had the nerve to complain! Whoever matters the most is still coming...even from out of state! So don't let these people get to you...there are so many other things to concentrate on!

Re: Friday night weddings
I can not even believe that anyone would say that to you
. That is so rude!!!!!! I am sorry that they are saying that to you! I know it is hard to do, but try to let those things roll off your back. I just went to 2 weddings in February and they were both a Friday night wedding, and FH & I had a GREAT time! I am not just saying that. It was something we were both looking forward to after a long week at work and it was like a fun happy hour with great people! And besides that we had 2 days to recover before work on Monday. It was really nice!!!

I haven't had any comments to my face yet but I'm sure there have been comments I haven't heard about. But whatever, I don't care! I chose Friday and I like Friday, my day, my way!!!

Re: Friday night weddings
I am having a Friday wedding. No one really said anything directly to me except, not too many people will probably be at the church since it starts at 3 pm.Sorry, but 'Oh Well'!!!!!!!!!!
It's my and FH's day. The people that want to be there will.
Friday is a GREAT DAY for a Wedding!!!!!!!!!

Re: Friday night weddings
ME too,Im sick of it as well! I am getting married on June 2nd which is a friday night. I dont think people really know how expensive it is to have a wedding these days! I'd rather save money on the wedding to have for a house!
I'm with you on this one!
