Re: Friday night weddings
my wedding is on a friday. my hall was the same price fri and sat but i couldnt reach the sat minimum. my dj said that he likes it better so he can set up whenever he wants since fridays have only night weddings where sat has day and night. i think any day is great to have a wedding. we did start ch at 730 and it lasts until130, but i did it for me since my church is in bklyn and my hall is in li and i wanted enought time for pics. that day is about me! me! me! thats what u have to remember!

Re: Friday night weddings
If you think the Friday night talk is bad, try having yours on a Monday... All I hear is that 'Monday is not convenient', 'I have to work that day', etc. Our wedding is on Monday, July 3rd since Tuesday is a holiday. I didn't plan my day to be convenient to the entire guest list. It was convenient for our immediate families, my FH & I. And the $$ was right too! It just happens that July 3rd is also my brother's wedding anniversary so now we'll have something to celebrate together.

Re: Friday night weddings
I just tell them that I saved about $4000 having it on a Friday, and that usually shuts them up. I go from being the annoying Bride to the smart and practical one.

Re: Friday night weddings
I heard the same crap from my mom when FH and I were deciding on a Friday night. So to shut my mom up, John and I had changed the day to a Saturday Night instead.
I go out of my way to please others and in return I get aggravation. I should have eloped.

Re: Friday night weddings
a few years ago, ok, more like 6 or 7, i never would have dreamed of having a friday night wedding. however, my eyes opened once you learn the 9 gagillion dollar price difference b/w saturday night and friday.me personally, i love friday night weddings b/c people are in weekend mode. most will take the day off from work,or work half day and then they are ready to party!!
don't stress it and when people start to ask that question say 'ok, you have a problem with friday night weddings, understandable. now just give me about 25k and THAT should cover the cost of a saturday even wedding. okay?'

Re: Friday night weddings
i can definitely relate....my wedding is Saturday 12pm-5:30pm....i've heard people complain about taking off from work and others about how it will be ending so early that by 8-9pm they'll be hungry again...give me a break! my feeling is, you don't like it, don't come!

those who want to be there to celebrate on your day will be there, no matter what day/time of the week!!! trust me, there is no date/day/time that will satisfy everyone! ~Lacey

Re: Friday night weddings
Try having it on a Monday!! It takes them alittle while to realize that 4th of July is the next day so most people have off from work, but it gets very annoying trying to explain yourself.

Re: Friday night weddings
Due to my school schedule and my mom/sister who are OOT, we had to do a particular weekend. Saturday night was not available. We went for Saturday 12:30-5pm. Otherwise, it would have been Friday night or Sunday.I don't want to hear any complaints from anyone. If you don't like it... don't come! I am not organizing my wedding to satisfy everyone. Only me, FH first and then our immediate family... then guests are invited if they want to come.

Re: Friday night weddings
I've gotten a few surprised 'A Friday, well. I've never heard of that', but other than that not too many problems. Somehow, over 100 folks decided to come anyway.

Re: Friday night weddings
some ppl do but you know Friday is so popular now. I always would rather go to a party/event on a Friday as it really makes my weekend seem full and extended. Just remember the ppl who love you will be there and not say a word and as for the others scr*w them!

People find something to complain about regardless of what night it's on.Friday night weddings are more popular now, as are Sundays, etc.
