Sex Offender in the Neighborhood....
So we just got a post card in the mail today from the Franklin Square school district informing all residents that a 'registered sex offender has taken up residence in the community.'Now that's just creepy!!!!!!

When I lived in Oceanside we got a few of those. You can call up and get the person's picture and information sent to you, thats what I did. Whats even creepier is that I saw one of the offenders in the Nathans game room. This one was charged with rape and sodomy of a girl under the age of 10!!!!!! When I called the police, they said they couldn't do anything because he wasn't bothering anybody!!! Crazy world we live in huh?

That's crazy they have to wait for him to hurt someone else...he has no business near kids he should not be in a game room.

For the most part, it depends what level sex offender they are. Level 3 (the most serious) cannot live or be near a certain radius of children (school bus stops, schools, playgrounds, etc). Less severe levels (1 and 2) aren't as strict. Which is ridiculous to me. And as a psychologist I guess I'm supposed to want to help these guys......NO WAY JOSE!!!!! I say chemically castrate them, and send them to a remote island away from everyone!!!!!!!!

You can go to this site and it will tell you ALL of the registered ones. You have to enter in your townm, state and zip (you can skip over address like I did)Familywatchdog.us

Be glad they notified you. there are more than you know not to be morbid or anything. Level three means their rate of repeating is extremely high

Do they tell you where in Franklin Square? I live in Franklin Square but for some strange reason, my school district is Valley Stream so I always miss letters like that. Thanks for posting....

they are everywhere..i Used to live down the block from one .. it was horrible.. everyone knew he was doing things to little kids.. but there was no way to prove it.. (this was in the 80s) now he still lives there and rides his creepy bike..
Just be aware, and tell your kids to be aware..

we got that letter home too from my sisters school, i live in fs too. she got 3 letters, there is one in fs, one in elmont AND one in VS. and they dont give you any info!my mother is trying to find out.

Wow...totally rare for our area....that concerns me. Our 'bubble' is broken.
If anyone finds out whereabouts 'it' is...please let us know.
ETA: What's VERY disturbing is one lives in Elmont in between TWO schools....AND 'it's' a child offender.
One is an 'other offender' and 'it' lives by the George Washington Elementary School.

how did you find out that one lives by washington street school? i have little cousins that live on that block AND go to that school.

I clicked on the link provided up top. Put in 11010 as the zipcode. Then I zoomed into '3' and you can see the names of the schools, etc.
'It's' not a child offender, but is some sort of offender...assuming 'it's' not rape or sexual battery. I wish they could specify!
