Re: card stock & menues??

These are mine and I described how I did it below. You can pretty much use this method to make any style menu you like.

I got the cardstock from Michaels while they were running a huge sale. They were 8.5 by 11 sheets, the green I cut in half and the cream was cut to 7.5 by 10... to give 1/2' all around. Print your menus out before cutting. Use word to make the menus by making a table of 2 cells sized to the final menu size (7.5 by 10) so when you print everything is already sized right. If you use a very light border it can help line things up when trimming.

I used a paper cutter to do it all because I can't cut straight at all. Then to attached the two sheets, I used a ruler and made a mark in pencil for the 1/2' margin... when you put the edges of the cream sheet on these marks it should be pretty much centered. If you are as anal as I am, I remeasured and made sure all sides were equal. Just shift the paper till it looks right. Now take a piece of double sided tape, lift the menu sheet slightly (trying not to not shifting it) and put the tape on the green sheet, press the cream sheet down and that will secure it. Then just use the tape in the corners to make sure it is totally secure and will not move.

I hope that all makes sense. If not let me know. I broke it down into nights because it can get very tiresome after awhile.

Good luck!

Re: card stock & menues??

I don't remember exactly but the paper was I think 4 sheet for $1 or even less than that. I had 2 menus per table and 15 tables I think. I also picked up the little card board stands that get attached to the back and I think that ran the most. I would say in all less than $20 for 30 menus and 15 table camera cards. I waited for the best sales between Michaels and AC Moore.

Re: card stock & menues??

If you like the card stock a lot figure out how many you can get off of one sheet and bring it to kinkos to have them cut it. They charge 10 cents a cut and do I think up to like 25 sheets at a time so it's really cheap.

Re: card stock & menues??

What size font did you use for the Menu? I did a sample of what I want and it's 8x5.5 but I feel like the font is sooooo small! Did anyone else feel this way?

Re: card stock & menues??

I got my cream linen 8.5x11 stock at staples

i got the chocolate 12x12 stock at the paper mill store

i bought the ribbon, corner punch and rhinestones from michaels.

i set the page size of MS Publisher (you can use Word) to 4.25x11 and printed 2 up on a page. I cut them in half and trimmed them down to 4 b/c it was cleaner. (the first paper cutter was horrible)

I cut the brown stock to 4.5x11.5 so there was .25 all on sides and corner punched it.

i hot glued the rhinestone on to the ribbon & paper at the same time so save time and steps. wrapped the excess around the block and rubber cemented them together
