NWR: My poor doggie...

My poor dog has pink eye! I didn't even realize dogs got this until her eye got all swollen and red. She looks so pathetic (even though she doesn't seem to be in pain).

By the way, anyone know how to get ointment in a dog's eye without having to wrestle it down on the kitchen floor? This morning's ointment application didn't go as planned....

I just had to put the plastic cone on her because she was pawing at it...I feel so bad!!!

hmm this is a tough things to do, especially when I try to get the gook out of my shih-tzu's eyes.. he fights me on it soo much.. what does help though is if I play with him till he's so tired later on he justs lets me (sort of) get by his eyes.. see if that helps.

The vet told us to try to ambush her while she's sleeping...I'm sure she's going to love waking up to me squirting ointment in her eye!

You feel bad, but after a while they look so damn funny running around bumping into things. I couldn't help but laugh when we had to put one of those things on my dog.

I agree with the ambush while asleep plan. If your dog is a heavy sleeper, he/she may not even wake up. Good luck.

i use treats after each GOOD attempt.. my dog gets ear infections and its like catching a wet pig.. chasing her around and wrestling..

the treats and LOTS of praise..
