Furniture for new apartment

For those of you moving into a new apartment with FH do you know where you'll be shopping for your furniture?

FI and I actually Moved into our apartment in spring of 04, we bought our furniture at levittz. (Couches, Tables, and Bedroom set). We didn't go crazy because when we buy a house we will probably get all new stuff.

Re: Furniture for new apartment

no apartment for me but we are living with FIL's right now until we get married and then we are getting a condo (after kids we will get a house).

right now while we are with FIL's (they have a pretty big house and we have our own seperate space that's pretty big--probably about the size of a 2 bedroom apartment)... so when we went to furnish it-- it was like furnishing an apartment and i made sure i got stuff that i would be able to 'use' again in our condo in only about a year and a half...

so we went to 'the place' on 110 b/c they have good deals and that's where the biggies as i like to call them came from (couches, tv centers, chairs, bed, some end/coffee tables). then, for 'accent pieces' i LOVE pottery barn when i can find a reasonable price but when i'm looking for a deal-- homegoods is GREAT. i also love peter andrews (they have a sale location off 110 on smith street i think it is) and you can find really nice stuff for cheap... i LOVE decorating so i'm big on all these places. and then of course, when we can splurge-- ethan allen is my fantasyland

re-cap lol:
the place on 110
pottery barn
homegoods
peter andrews
ethan allen

i forgot to mention ANY little antique places i can find wherever i go-- they have great, unique, and cool things that i can usually get good deals on!!

Re: Furniture for new apartment

We were very lucky- my father in an antique dealer, so we got a lot of really nice stuff from his store out in Bellport...so any ladies looking for antique furniture, let me know! What we didn't get from him, we got from Ethan Allen, I really like that style.
