He didn't appear crazy but he was ultra soft spoken and borderline hypnotic but not in a good way. He did clarify the 'silent birth' thing by saying that the mother can make as much noise as she needs to and that everyone else needs to be quiet. He is still creepy to me.

I agree with what you say. I also got the feeling he was lying several times.

First let me say that plenty of babies are conceived and born before marriage and welcomed into loving homes. All children are blessings.BUT
I still have an issue with someone who touts themselves as sooooooo 'religious' that they knowingly conceive a child out of wedlock and do not get married before that child is born. I have said this before and I'll say it again, I cannot think of ANY religion that condones sex before marriage much less the conception of a child. I am sure various churches, temples, mosques, and what have you realize that people change with the times but I cannot imagine that Katie's father, who they have said is Catholic over and over is too thrilled about this. I am no angel, but I never said I was religious. Amazing how Tom makes this all ok.

I was reading the comments in People magazine that readers write in and this one person pointed out how controlling Tom is and how he kind of swept Katie into Scientology making no effort to learn about or take into consideration her religion...I thought that was such a good observation

supposedly scientology isn't a religion, but more of a lifestyle. i have a psych professor that loves talking about how cult-like it is (which i agree it is) and he showed us this website in class... www.xenu.net which was pretty interesting. ~lacey
