GREAT LI favor, BM gift or OOT basket idea!

If you're getting married on LI, there is a GREAT company called the Long Island Candle Factory. I've bought candles from them before at the Oyster Festival. I just got off the phone with them. I want to do an OOT basket with all Long Island stuff (LI wine, potato chips, tourist info., etc.). So, I'm either going to do a votive or travel candle from the Long Island Candle Factory.

The names of their scents include:
Montauk Mist
Long Beach
Fire Island
Oyster Bay (probably the one I'll get, since my wedding is IN the Town of Oyster Bay, in Bayville)
Merlot
Beach Walk
Breeze
Tropical
and then the standard coconut, vanilla, etc. kind of scents.

I just LOVE that a lot of their scents incorporate Long Island names. AND... get this... he said that he would be able to make up a scent for me - and NAME it whatever we want! Maybe I'll name one 'Crescent Beach'. That's SO cool!!! (I get very excited about stuff like this!)

I just think it will be such a nice special touch for my OOT baskets. If I didn't have my heart set on my Christmas ornament favors, I totally would have done these as favors instead. They're sending me samples of their scents so I can pick one - or make up my own - this weekend. I'll let you know how they are. And they said they're getting special glass votives in that are PERFECT for wedding favors. (They said they're going to post a pic on their website this weekend.)

Just wanted to share it with you. I'm so excited about them! My MOH got engaged at the Montauk Lighthouse, so for their Christmas present a couple of years ago, I bought her the Montauk Mist candle. It's just a nice thing to bring into a Long Island theme.

love the idea...i am also thinking of a similare idea with wines etc...for gift baskets for the out of towners...the candles are a nice touch...there are north fork potatoe chips on line...do you know of any others?

they do have prices somewhere on the website... but if you're buying in bulk, it's better to call and check. They'll probably work with you for buying a lot. They're VERY nice!

Click on the size candle you want...

Then it will bring up a drop down menu of 'types' of scents. Click on ones of those. Then it will bring up individual scents. Click one one of those. Then it will bring up the prices. But, like I said, they're working with me on the price, since I'm buying a bunch, so calling them is better. Also, the votives come in these adorable white bags, with 'The Long Island Candle Factory' and the scent name on it. So cute!

I wanted to do a Traveler's Candle, but it's a bit too much to spend on OOT baskets, for me. So, I'm going to get a whole bunch of votives, and put one votive in a glass votive holder in the white, labeled bag - and give one each to my hotel guests.
