I am absolutely devastated! My dress doesn't fit and it has to be changed. UPDATED WITH PICS

I worked sooo hard. I lost weight, went to the gym and did a LOT of weight lifting. I went for my first fitting today and my dress fit perfectly around my hips and waist. But I gained 2 inches in my bust and it won't button up the back. They can't let out the dress because I got a size that fit perfectly when I ordered it, and there are no real seams. So they have to put a panel in the back and put a corset in. It won't button all the way up like the original dress I fell in love with. I am so upset and there is nothing I can do about it. My shower is tomorrow in Boston and I don't even care. I'm just so sad it's not going to be the dress I fell in love with. I hope I can love it again when the changes are made. This totally ***** and I didn't even enjoy my first fitting. I cried the whole time.

UPDATE:

Well, I looked at the pics, and while I'm not happy with this, I can see what the back will look like and it probably won't be so bad. You can see the corset in the 3rd pic and it will look like that, but only more finished. I figured I'd share some of my horror pics with you girls

oh i am soooo sorrry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i can only imagine how you must be feeling... but you must have faith that the dress will still look beautiful with the changes... corset is just as pretty as buttons...

by the way did you maybe add or change your bcp? sometimes that might add to breast weight, and you might be able to get rid of it quickly....

I bet it will look fantastic. I had one button that did not close and I wish I was given the opton of taking out the dress somehow, even if it changed the back.

Re: I am absolutely devastated! My dress doesn't fit and it has to be changed.

honestly, your dress will look completely different to you on your wedding day. when I went for my first fitting I was less than pleased. it was totally different then what I had pictured in my mind for months. when i went for my final fitting, something just clicked - I was thrilled. I don't know why, but I feel like you're going to be better than fine when you go in for your next fitting. don't let this bring you down!

Re: I am absolutely devastated! My dress doesn't fit and it has to be changed.

Did you switch the bra or take it off the bra can affect the fit alot!!! Or did you try it without a bra and just put cups in ?? Is that a possiblity??

Re: I am absolutely devastated! My dress doesn't fit and it has to be changed.

Don't give up yet, I'm in a similar situation and learned something these past few weeks.

I found I was doing more toning (lifting weight etc.) than I should. I've since started concentrating on doing 2/3 cardio and 1/3 arm toning (dress is strapless, trying to get rid of underarm flab).

I've already lost 2 pounds this week and I only did 50 minutes of cardio total.

Keeping your heart rate up while doing cardio is key for weight loss. If you're doing toning with weights, you are going to wind up gaining muscle mass which may throw off the way your dress fits.

You've got a week more than I do, can you put off the final alterations for two weeks and really get down to business with the workouts?

Even if you can't, don't despair. I'm sure no matter what, you are going to look gorgeous. Have you ever watched a bride walk down the aisle and think, 'eiw how ugly!' Nope, me neither.

You're going to be stunning whether you like it or not.

And if you want to talk about diet/exercise stuff, send me a FM anytime. I've gotten great advice here, I'd be happy to share.

Beth, I just looked at your pictures.

Girl, you are stunning.

Don't worry about a thing and enjoy your day. You're never getting another bridal shower, so put this out of your mind for one day. Enjoy it, and then come back and tell us how wonderful it was. Then take the suggestions here and work on it with us.

I'm serious, you're beautiful and no alterations to that dress will change that.

What kind of workout do you do? Do you do a lot of chest/back exercises?
