Moving out of Parents house !!!!!

Okay... Im going to be 24 and have always lived with my parents... SO next year when I get Married willl be the First time I am away from Home... does anyone have the same issue?? I think im going to miss home after like a month of being away... I dont think we are going to live more the 20 min away but It still scares me alittle ..am I being a Big baby? I should get over this right.....

I'm moving out for the first time too -- i mean i've been away for college and all but still -- it'll be sad.

You're not being a baby. It's totally understandable!

But...we will have to get over it Don't think FH will like it if I tell him I want to go home

LOL ya you got a point I dont think he will like it if i say i have to go home... LOL ... I just keep on thinking how weird its going to be .. I never been away from home more then 2 weeks .. I need to grow up HE HE ...

It's a sad but also exiting time. Your OWN place, your own things, your autonomy, will overtake and you will be come happier as time moves along. You can always visit your parents !!!!!!!....

I felt the same way when I left my parents. I lived downstairs from them in my own apartment so I had privacy but still was cloce to them. When they sold the house I was so sad. I didn't want to leave them or Brooklyn, but I knew that my FI and I were starting our life together. It really is bittersweet, but it's NORMAL to feel that way!!! Good luck

You are not alone - I am moving out for the first time as well. YOu will be ok it will be an adjustment definately though.

i'm in the same boat! i never went away to college (went to cw post) so I've lived at home my ENTIRE life...and I'm 28!!! FH and i have been looking for places and i was so excited. then when we found one and signed the lease, it hit me that i wouldn't be living at home anymore and i freaked! no more homecooking, no more laundry done, no more seeing my parents everyday! weird, but i'll have to get over it. i think it's just gonna take some time adjusting to it but it'll have to be done...cause i cant wait to spend my life with FH!!!!!

I moved out of my parents 'years ago' it was a real adjutment not only because you are not with them but because you will be living with someone 'new'. You and FH will have to get used to sharing and habits are different. It's normal. Everybody goes through that phase, regardless of your age.

I know how you feel. As soon as I graduated, I moved 500 miles away from my parents and in with FH and his family while we saved for a place of our own. We moved out of that house 8-9 months later into the apt we currently reside it.

You're not being a baby - it's your security blanket to be with your Mom and Dad and I had a hard time releasing that fear too, but FH has been great and very understanding to my needs and my every so often sadness over missing my family, but he's my family now and I love him and he's always willing to do anything to keep me happy!

I moved out for the first time two summers ago. (I was 25) It was really hard and sometimes I still miss living 'home'. To me that will always be home. You'll get used to it.

The way you feel is 100% normal, especially when you never lived outside your parents house like I did. That was actually the most difficult part of getting married for me, I felt sad leaving my parents and sister. Still 6 months into being married it's difficult but my parents and I talk like 5 times a day and we make sure to see each other at least twice a week.

I was never close with my parents but ever since I got married they became my best friends and I'm so thankful things turned out the way they did.

I feel the same way. it is understandable for all of us to feel like this. I probably won't be living far from my parents either. I guess I feel like this because my parents are getting older now and I am the last to live the household of 7 children. I also take care of their financial and household responsibilties for them, so I feel bad.

But I am sure it will be ok...

I don't think that you're being a baby at all, but I definitely have a hard time understanding what you're going through. I was so excited to go away to college and the thought of moving home after that is awful. I love living on my own and supporting myself, plus I think that my mother and I would kill each other if we lived together again.

I feel the same way, I lived with my parents all my life and I never wanted to go away to college so I did not...I get a little nervous about moving in with my husband next year

The other day i was cleaning out my room...and i literally cried for hours!
although i'm just moving 20 mins away also, its really sad!!

its somethign we have to accept and just move on, its all part of growing up. I can't believe in just few days i'll be living somewhere else for good....

it really gets me upset thinking about it, but every time i get upset, i think of something greater who i'll be spending the rest of my life with....

regardless of where u live now, keep in mind you'll be forever with the man of your dreams!

I did not move out of my mom's house until me and FH moved to Charlotte in June of 2004 (I was 28 )

I did not go away to school so that was my first time away from home. I was home sick for like a week and then I got over it. Now I love being on my own.
