NWR - Husband's work function - what to wear?

Hey ladies, I need your opinion. My husband's law firm is having a company event/dinner at Lawrence Beach Club. Has anyone been there or know what type of place it is? I'm not sure what to wear or how formal a function this is going to be. I was told this was a pretty exclusive beach club and his law firm is pretty conservative.

Do I wear a suit, a nice summer dress, or a cocktail dress? I'm so confused and I want to make a good impression since this is the first time I will be meeting people from his job.

then I would go for a suit, because most people are probably coming from work, I would have a cute top under th suit so if you take off the jacket it is not just a button down. But, if it is a work night def go with a suit.

Can't your DH find out what the attire is?

I asked and like a typical male, he said 'I don't know. Something nice.' And then, he added 'and it's an important function'. Gee, thanks. That's helpful!
