Can I just tell you one more time how MUCH I hate this job

I want to poke my eyeballs out
I have never learned how the human spirit could be so vile, manipulative and rude than the way I have learned it here.

I hear all about how cool your bosses are, with wedding lunches, welcome backs and I think to myself, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS LIKE TO WORK WITH NICE PEOPLE.

I told me FH, I am willing to clean houses (I have my masters degree and I dont clean our own house) than get out of bed in the morning. It truly has taken a toll on my heart, head and over all personality. I will remember being engaged as a time in my life where I was miserable. I don't know why I let it get to me so much, it's only a job, right? But I do. Had my wedding that I am partially paying for not be in 5 months, I would be gone. I would quit and worry about a job at the GAP later.

Sorry for the vent, I am literally crying at my desk

I feel so bad for you.....why are they being so mean to you? are none of the people you work with married and don't understand all the work you need to put into it?

Oh my gosh Nancy, please dont cry sweetie...just hold out a few more months...maybe you should start looking for something else and maybe take a month off before your wedding so that you at least de-stress from this awful job! I know exactly what you're going through...I've worked with some fukking tyrants before myself...when I came to my current job I thought I was in heaven...please just try to hang in there and start looking and interviewing!

i hate that feeling when you hate your job.

i get that sometimes at the restaurant i work at on the weekends. the best trick that works for me is the idea that i will not be at it forever. i know i am leaving in august.

so what you should try to do it say to yourself that you will quit after or before the wedding and just hold out. since you see there is an end in sight, that should make it a little bearable.

You have to do what is best for you. When you are that unhappy it can start affecting you're health. Your health is the most important thing in this world. I would have to look for something else, I don't know what field you are in but I could not stay that unhappy, it is so not worth it!!!

Try to hang in there and focus on the wedding and your HM. In the past 2 years I was at 3 incredibly unhappy jobs and was miserable. It does take a toll on one's spirit, body, and ends up affecting everything. Try hard not to let it - so its Friday and this weekend try not to think of it - only good things. Its only a job (granted we need $ but in the grand scheme of things...) - so like you said 5 more months and after you can get out of there hopefully. Is there something proactive you can do in terms of setting up for looking for a new job so when the wedding is passed you can either go to something new right away or atleast be interviewing already?

My friend was an event planner for DKNY and the job stressed her out so much that in the end she was diagnosed with a biopolar disorder (I dont know if that was directly related to her job but thats what happened)...she left bc couldnt take the stress and the drug-filled environment anymore and now she is a waitress..please take care of yourself! Start looking!

I'm so sorry you are feeling this way. I used to do event planning but I gt so burnt out from working so many hours I had to leave. But at least the whole company was event planning so I didn't have to deal with people not getting it. Have you tried looking for something else? Check out Craigs List. You never know what you will find. I saw a posting for rollerbladers once...they even offered to buy the rollerblades for you! Good luck!

i know exactly what you mean. i hated my job and would have constant breakdowns. I was thinking about quiting my job right before my wedding but i couldn't take it anymore...so finally quit about 2 months ago! such a relieve! the only thing is that is our reception cost is taken care by our families. just hang in there for a few more months and then give them the boot...

I totally feel the same way. I can not stand what I do and where I am. Getting married in 5 mnths and we are paying for it all alone plus just bought a house..so I have no other option. Just try and get through the day and leave it all there. When you are home just relax . I know it suxs to have a blah attitude about your job but just think it is only temporary.
