I feel your pain. BELIEVE me. The only reason why I choose to stay at the awful bottom-dwelling job is because I am getting married in August, and I dont need the added stress (or have the time or energy) to start a new job. I know Im better then this. My dream is to work in a job that I am passionate about , and this JUST AINT IT!!! Some of the girls on this site have been extremely helpful and very kind to me, offering to submit my resume for me. I would have normally jumped on an opportunity like that, however the timing is just really really bad right now. You have 5 months... If your job is THAT bad.. milk it until you get married & come back from your honeymoon. Its so sad, but I put no effort into this job. The whole finance industry bores the $hit out of me. I dont have the heart for it.

Better days are ahead for you sweetie.. you have the qualifications to become very succesful. Dont let those animals at work bring you down. I work with some real winners myself. I wonder how some of these people graduated high school, I swear. Keep you head up. Remember this.. you work to LIVE, not live to work.

I feel the exact same way. If I didn't have a mortgage to pay, I would consider quitting. I would rather clean toilets (not that there is anything wrong with that!) than go to work. I have a law degree and I don't want to practice law anymore! I am so done with my job! I wish I could hide under my covers in the morning! Your post really hit home!

So sorry to hear..... Hav eyou been looking for a new job? It's not healthy to be in that kind of environment, where you are extremely unhappy..... Something better will come along!!!

I cannot be how nice you are all to me. I am indeed looking, I was hesitant at first but now feel a new job i love is better than an old job I hate
so as soon as something (dear god) comes along i am on it
I feel really assured that there are so many of us out there. My girls have no comprehension what it is like to hate hate hate it so much. Thank you again. You rock!

You def still have time to find a new job.... I am starting a new job in 2 weeks and I am getting married in October as well.... Stay Strong!!!!

Please get out of that situation, I know it is easier said than done; but make it your second job to find a new job.

My previous job was terrible, I hated my boss and there was such a negative vibe in the office. I just always felt down. I knew I was smart and capable but I felt stifled in that office. I called in sick all the time, because I felt terrible about going into work.

I am now in a company that is completely different. I love my boss and my co-workers. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I still get frustrated at things. But I haven't called in sick since January and I was really sick then.

Same here. Exact to a tee how I feel. I'm a mess every morning knowing I have to come to this place. Especially Sundays. And I work for a large, very well known non profit agency. You think people would be warm, nice, and easy to work with. Not even close. I feel like a shell of a person since I started working here. Which ***** more than ever now with the wedding planning...we're supposed to be having a great time!

I'm here if you want to chat. I know too well what you are going through. I too would be out of here if the wedding wasn't 6 months away. I've started to look, but am trying to hold on for a little while longer because I don't know if I can deal with the added stress of starting a new job. But I said to FH last night that if I could get married and never come back to this place it would make it a little more bearable in the meantime. He told me he would support my decision if I wanted to quit now, but there is no way we could afford the wedding if I did.

I'm sorry Nancy! Know that we are here for you and some of us know what you are going through. At least it's Friday.

I can completely understand. I'm in a similar situation.

But, I'm sticking it out for at least 4 more months. I'm too far in the game to leave now.

I know exactly where you're coming from. I just quit my job yesterday too. I've held on for so long, and yesterday was my boiling point. At least my two weeks notice brings me right up to my rehearsal dinner!
