QOTD: Do you spend more $$ on your Mom or MIL?

For occasions like Mother’s Day, B-day, Christmas/Hanukkah... do you spend more on your mom, your MIL or equally the same?

It occurred to me yesterday that we always spend more on my Mom. We gave them both big bo-k’s of flowers, but since my MIL lives in OH, we didn’t see her. In addition to giving my Mom flowers, we bought my mom a cake, gave her The Notebook DVD and took my family out for dinner.

we try to see both being my mom lives in Smithtown and MIL is in Huntington. Yesterday we had breakfast with my family (10-11AM), then went to MIL from 1-4:45PM, then to my Nana's there after

It is usually about even. Since my mom has moved to Phoenix, the shipping charges make her gifts more $.

i am the buyer and i spend more on my mom- i pay for my gifts for my family and dh gives me money for his parents gifts

i like ot give extravagant gifts

We always spend more on my mom, but that's because I'm the one who buys the gifts.

Like yesterday we gave both of our mom's plants. But I'm also taking my mom to the ballet next month which cost me $160. I just didn't mention it in front of my MIL. Honestly, if I thought she owuld enjoy it I would have taken them both to the ballet, but I know my MIl would be bored out of her mind.

We spend the same amount on both when it comes to holidays, birthdays and such. It's just easier.

I spend more on my mom. My DH picks out the gifts for his parents, so it is not like I spend less on them on purpose. It is just the way their family is, they give less expensive gifts to eachother, maybe becuase the family is so big (7 brothers and sisters!)
