My latest fear and paranoia! (i truly think i'm losing it!)

...is no shows. am i the only one who is neurotic enough to think that people will RSVP but then forget to come to the wedding? or RSVP for 2 but them come solo???? i'm scared they are going to waste my money!

any past brides have no shows and if so how many?

I had one couple (2 people) not show to my wedding. You can't stress about whether or not people will come, it's something you can't control. I learned that in wedding planning

I had a nightmare about it a few months ago... my church was EMPTY.

I am automatically counting a few people as no-shows. You can always add people... can't take away the day of!

I think it's a normal fear!

I'm not a past bride but I do know that it has happend. A lot of people don't typically do this though. it may be one or two people that either couldn't make it at the last minute or who's date bailed on them. Nothing you can really do about it, it's a chance everyone takes when planning.

I had hmmm.. 4 I think... maybe 5. I cant remember..

I can say someone gave me an excellent tip.. Tell your hall 2 less than what you think. If everyone shows up they can add 2 seats and then you can pay for it. It may be embarassing to some but I think most of us had about 2 no shows..

it happens. you pay for your # and call it a day. i had a few NS. you can't stress about that!

we had a REALLY weird situation with no shows... DHs family is all from western PA, so they have no clue what weddings cost here... out there, they're all $25 a person things....
ANYWAY.... so dhs aunt, her husband, and their 2 teenage boys drove 5 hours for the ceremony, but then they weren't at the reception.... turns out that they had gotten lost coming down the night before and ended up driving around all night. so DHs uncle was tired and being an @ss hole and decided 'we'll go the the ceremony, but i'm too tired to make the reception'. the whole thing was just really weird, and as a result they are getting a divorce now... how do you drive 5 hours and not stay for the food??? not to mention thats 4 meals we pad for that didn't get eaten!

Wouldn't the hall be able to tell that your missing a few people on your count, by the seating chart and the place cards?
