Ring Engraved?

Ok, so we ordered our wedding bands, yay!
Mine is diamonds all around but FH is just a solid band. I don't know how I didn't think of this but in leaving the jewelery store the guy casually said for me to let him know what I'm going to engrave inside FH's ring by next week?? Eep! I have no idea!! I'm on my own deciding as he wants to be suprised now...

So I was debating between the simple romantic statement w/ the date or a cute line from Princess Bride or something?
I personally like 'If you can read this, you're in trouble' :) but I don't know if I should make a joke out of it...

What are most of you girls doing?

I'm probably going the serious route. We always tell each other we love each other 'forever and a day' so I think i'm going to put that and the date.

PS...if a line from Princess Bride is significant to your relationship i don't think there is anything wrong with putting that!

I think if that saying has meaning to you you should use it - even if it is a little more 'fun' than 'serious'!

My favorite engraving is: 'Put it back on'!!

But we went with senimental - his is 'From my soul' and mine says 'you and no other'

We put Forever and the date on both of ours.

I'm not engraving - jeweler told us we couldn't due to the bands we picked, but if we did, it would be:

His: KK to MS 6-25-06
Mine: MS to KK 6-25-06

I think ours will both be 'Forever' and the date of the wedding. He always would whisper that to me, and I love it.

Hubby and I have yet to get ours engraved but I think I might put in mine 'Chima 06.26.06' or just this name 'Chima' but we did get married in NY (spontaneously) and I want to include that...decisions decisions....

Hubby wants to engrave 'ball & chain' - yeah right! ha ha....

I would love to hear what other couple are doing or thinking about...great topic!

I did a 'joke'....FH's ring says 'I have you.' b/c one night long ago, long before we believed in love (hee...as the first few months of our 'relationship'), i was smiling and FH asked why...i said 'because i have you.' he thought i said 'i love you' and so he replied, 'I love you, too.' to this day he SWEARS he said 'i think i love you, too' but he didn't.

even our programs contain a bit of that inside joke:

all and all this much is true, you have me and i have you. i made the 'i have you' on its own line.

I also had my e-ring engraved at the same time as my band. The e-ring says: ILUM each day

we don't have our rings engraved becasue mine is too small, but we just got bulova watches for our first anniversary, and we're gonna have the backs of those exgraved...
i think we're gonna put ' i'll catch you 6.25.05'

when we were dating, there was a song by a group called the getup kids, and DH would always play it for me
' don't worry, i'll catch you,
don't ever worry!
you're arms in mine, anytime
i wouldn't trade anything, you're still my everything'

so, 'I'll catch you' sort of became our little saying, so i think it works
