NWR:anyone a med student or dr.....pediatrics/skin??

my daughter's cheeks have been really red for days now....i'm concerned. i don't have a pic right this minute...but i can take one and email it. i just need to know if i should be concerned or just give her extra TLC.

eta-
she is also prone to randomly getting these 'pimple-like' bumps on her face...they are really red around them when they appear. i looked into rosacea and 5ths...i just don't know. she seems fine otherwise from what i can tell. she doesn't have any known allergies...she was tested not too long ago for EVERYTHING and diagnosed with chronic non-allergic rhinitis.

my mom, the nurse, is getting her nails done and won't answer her phone....the nerve.

I don't know....she's at FILs, I'm at work. She feels fine and doesn't even know her cheeks are all flushed.

what about fifths disease-

Especially common in children between the ages of 5 and 15, fifth disease typically produces a distinctive red rash on the face that makes the child appear to have a slapped cheek. The rash then spreads to the trunk, arms, and legs.

Despite being called a 'disease,' fifth disease is actually just a viral illness that most children recover from quickly and without complications.

Hey, sorry to hear about your daughter. I'm also sorry i couldn't answer you question earlier. My specialty isn't peds but i'll give you my opinion. Being that i dont know her age,it's difficult to say what she has, but more than likely she has 5th's disease (aka Parvovirus) or possibly Roseola. With 5th's disease she may also have a lacy rash on the rest of her body. Until you're sure, be sure to keep her away from anyone who may be pregnant, since it is dangerous to pregnant women. Roseola is also a possibility since you say she seems ok. With roseola, they usually have a fever for a couple of days and when the fever breaks, the rash develops on trunk and spreads, however it usually only lasts 24 hrs. Just check her temp for now, avoid aspirin and get her to pediatrician if she doesn't get better. let me know if you have more questions.

my 5 year old cousin had 5ths disease - i dont think her rash was pimply, looked more like she had very rosy cheeks or poison ivy.

did she eat something she may be allergic too? if i eat too much peanut butter I get itchy and get tiny pimples on my chin and forehead.....

eta: how long ago was she allergy tested?? BC i didnt have allergies when I was a kid and I developed them in my teens -
