Are you involved with the planning of your bridal shower or

do u think a surprise one is being planned?

I doubt if mine will be a surprise..... i already know my MOH is OVERLY excited about planning my bachorlotte party I can just imagine.. what she has in store for me.

See in New Mexico we do it totally different. Girls here have a couple of showers, like three or four or five, but they are each fairly small with 20-30 people. The showers here are 'hostessed' by for example, one shower is your moms coworkers, one is moms friends, one is your friends, maybe one is hostessed by bm's. Anyhoo, and its a big deal on the shower invites because people want their names to be on the 'hosted by' list. I don't know..its a social thing, kind of southern.

Anyhoo..not as elaborate as the showers in NY. They are more intimate and usually done in someones home or a restaurant. And yes the bride always knows about it.

So I'll have a few but I'll know about them all.

But my FMIL is going to throw me a small one in NY and she wants it to be a surprise. But There are few times I'm in NY, so I'll be sure to have my nails done and look cute each time I go to NY from here on out

I know exactly when both of mine are because we need to plan for traveling and stuff.

Yeah..its harder with showers if you don't live there. I don't live in NY, or where my New Mexico ones will be, Roswell.

I love to see pics of you NY girls shower!! All so big and in a nice big restaurant. I think I would truly prefer one big fat one in a nice place...but oh well....a few intimate ones will do

Yea... Nina we New Yorkers do - do it a little big....

Just went to Caligirl's (an 06 freind) and Eliana and I were like hummmmm nice set up and space for an intimate backyard wedding if we only knew.

Caligirl's shower had at least 100 people there and it was very nice. BTW it was a Jack n Jill shower.

I'll know about it... its just easier... I'd rather know when it is so I can make sure I look nice haha... I don't think I'll be involved too much with the planning though.. maybe just where & when. But as far as details.. I'll leave that up to my mom and BP.

mine is not going to be a surprise. my mom and i decided it would be too hard with me living at home and honestly, because ill probably be able to figure out when it is anyway.

My mom says I won't know when it's coming but we'll see.-I won't let her know that I know when it is though. I think people like to see you surprised if it is going to be a surprise shower.

Mine will be a 'surprise' I think....my cousin (who is like my sister) has been planning this since I started college according to her so I'm interested just to see what she plans here!! I wonder though if I'll be able to figure it out before it happens...we'll see

I am soo anti surpise im planning both my showers.. on in nj and one in li.. im not too big on the traditional shower i wanted a webcam shower! haha.. just send me the presents and ill open on cam haha... but that didnt go over too well so im doing two jack and jill showers with more a chillin' vibe.. .bbq style but winter time.. somehow ill pull that off.. maybe strech it to early march
but im a control freak but not bridezillish i swear! i need to know things and make sure they go off without a hitch

There are times I want to be a surprise and ther times I don't. I love planning parties and events. Also, my BM's are all very different and I have no idea what they have in store for me

at this point i don't even know who is going to be taking care of all the shower plans...knowing my luck they'll forget to throw me one (my mother has forgotten my birthday on a few occasions and she said she wanted to throw me the shower.. )

not too sure- i dont really like surprises so I kinda want to know about my shower but as of now im clueless i do know that we bought the coasters (the love ones) for favors for the shower - hey they were on sale !

I also want to be surprised - but FH calls me a detective bc Im always looking for clues for things, and figure out what hes planning all the time! LOL .. but I think that my mom, ssister and Fh might really get me for my shower!
