Reception halls on the water
We are going to start looking at catering halls next week and FH has his heart set on somewhere on the water. Any suggestions? I was hoping to find a place that only does one wedding at a time, but I think I might have to be flexible with that. Any suggestions or have any of you girls shopped any place on the water and got pricing?

Re: Reception halls on the water
Me and my FH have our sights set on Timber Point CC or The Bayview House. Both on the south shore right on the Bay. Timber Point is also a golf course, so there is a nice extra added bonus when it comes time for pics. Also, Chateau Le Mer in Lindenhurst is right on the water as well. There and The Bayview house you can arrive to your reception by boat! Good luck!

I wanted the same thing.. THe first and only place i looked at was Chateau la Mer. It is right on the water with a dock. PLUS.. weather permitting, you arrive on their yacht for the cocktail hour. I fell in love with the place and we went for a food tasting and the food was excellent

Re: Reception halls on the water
If you are flexible with location......Marina Del Rey in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx is on the water. It has a view of 2 bridges, an outdoor gazebo/ceremony area. They also have a yacht that can hold a CH for approximately 100 people. The food is great too. If you do a search, you can see photos from some recent weddings there. Good Luck!

Re: Reception halls on the water
I have been to Middle ISland Country Club for a Sweet 16...nice, not really my style, though. On the water...my friend got married at Chateau La Mer and it was beautiful. I also attended a wedding a Snapper Inn in Oakdale. Very nice, they had their ceremony like 10 feet from the water.
