Does it seem rude to only want close family and friends at the church
I really wanted close family and friends attend the church and all our other guest attend our reception..

i dont think it 'seems' rude, as exchanging vows is a personal thing, but to tell people not to go is a bit rude. JMO.

my aunt got married and only invited people to the reception... i think you could definitely do this if you handled your invites correctly... if that makes sense...

personally i would feel kinda sad... if i care enough about someone to go to a reception i would want to share in that moment at the ceremony..but thats just me.

I think it does. I find seeing the ceremony the most important part of a wedding. IMO If i am important enough to celebrate with - I think i should be important enough to witness the marriage.

I nderstand where you are coming from you want your ceremony to be an intimate gathering but as a guest I would be sad to only be invited to the reception...that is my favorite part seeing the Bride and Groom get married ~ it is your day do what you really want to do....
I am sure if your happy your guests will be happy and understand!
