UPDATE WITH PICS: Flowers by Brian v. Flower Michele (long)

We met with both today and here's what we got from each:

FBB:

18 tall CPs with high vase filled with green apples and medium size roses and hydrangeas.
Bridal bouquet - pink roses
1 MOH and 6 BMs - roses with orchids
tossing Bo-K
1 Groom boutonniere
6 GM
2 Moms
2 Dads
20 family bout/corsages
Tulle and two rose domes for canapy
Tulle along aisles
Petals and votives for card table
flowers for cake
flowers for sweetheart table
tray table
bridal suite
delivery of Bo-Ks to hotel
TOTAL: $3890
Cindy gave us the option of bringing in the apples ourselves for a discount of $360

FM:
same except
No bridal suite
No tulle along aisle
No votive candels
No flowers for sweetheart table
No votive candels for card table
No mention of delivery of Bo-Ks to hotel
TOTAL: $4038
Mike gave us the option of bringing in our own vases AND apples for a discount of $560

From price alone, we are leaning towards FBB but does anyone have any words of wisdom, personal stories OR suggestions for other florists?

I really really like John at Flower Michele better than the woman i met at FBB. FBB were willing to give me a little more for the money but I really wanted to go with FM. I went to John and told him the little extras that FBB was going to give and John matched everything. I am soooo happy to be dealing with FM. My brother used FBB and was very happy though. It's all personal preference and experience. Both vendors are highly recommended. Good Luck.

Good Luck with this bc it is a hard decision. I am going to book with Flower Michele and I haven't even met with John yet. Just from what I read they seem to be awesome. However, your list is very impressive and I think that both would do a wonderful job. I agree with the first post. Go to John, tell him about the differences, and ask him what he can do. The worst that can happen is John says he can't match it to you go with Flowers by Brian. Either way I think you will be happy. Again- Good luck!

I am using Joseph from FBB.

Their price quote was the best and their reputation stands for itself..

thanks girls, i'm sure both are fantastic. FM def. is a loved fav. on this board which is why I made a beeline for them. i am going to call them tomorrow and ask for john and tell him what FBB is offering.

i agree with everyone here because i did get a lower quote from someone else and john from flower michele was able to match it. As long as the quote is from a good vendor and doesn't have cheap quality flowers to begin with.

FM all the way. To me it is very hard to compare his work with anyone. He remains consistent.

Looking at the Reviews from Flowers by Brian, they both seem like great Vendors, but I am Biased I vote Flower Michele, his work is truly amazing and I have yet to see a bad review or any complaints. Contact John and see if he could match your quote.

I had the same thing, I went to both florists. I went with FBB because he was giving us more for the money, much more and he has an awesome reputation. I loved FM also but I went with who gave more since they are both great. The only place we saved a little money was on the florist so thats why we chose FBB>

I met someone from FBB at a bridal show at Jericho Terrace, and he just didn't seem to have the same enthusiasm for flowers as John from FM does. John worked with me a LOT to make sure I got just the flowers I wanted and I LOVED them at my wedding.

You have to go with what you like, did you see the pictures and flowers from both places??
Everyone has their different opinions...just do a search and check out the quality of flowers in the pictures from both places.
I went to 4 places, and I didnt pick someone that 'I got along with, or was nicer than the other' you have to pick the one who is more creative and whose pieces stand out!

I really LOVE John from FM and think that if you tell him (or show him) what you're getting from the other place, he'll match it, or come close. Even if it's a LITTLE more, the peace of mind in knowing you can TRUST your flowers from FM and the service they provide will be impeccable is worth the little bit extra money. I actually originally had another florist booked and cancelled them to go with FM, and I SO happy and excited that I did!

I know a lot of brides have had fabulous experiences with Flower Michele. Personally, I did not. I told him what I wanted and he said he couldn't do it - color wise. He gave me a price quote that was completely out of line with almost every other florist I met with (I saw 14 total). Two weeks after I met with him a bride posted her review with her flowers from John with - you guessed it - the colors he said he couldn't do.

Glad to hear someone else had a similar experience as me at FM...I thought I was the only one b/c everyone on here raves about them.
I walked out of there feeling so unwelcomed and just had such a cold feeling while I was there. My appt was SO rushed - John only met with me for about a half hour while other florists spent close to 2 hours with me to go over everything. He laughed at me when I told him my budget while every other florist I met with was able to work within my budget. I thought it was sort of rude to laugh in someone's face like that - not everyone has $10k or even $5k to spend on flowers. Personally I had a much better experience with normal local florists I met with. FM isn't a regular florist - they only do events. I just felt like with a place like that they don't give you the time and attention you would get from a regular florist. FM is most likely doing your wedding plus 3 or 4 others the same day. I just got a very cold feeling from my meeting there and was HIGHLY disappointed esp after hearing such rave reviews about them on here. I mean his work is wonderful...I've seen pictures. I just like to be treated a little nicer and feel like a vendor has time for me and doesn't laugh in my face.

If you're interested my florist could give you all the above for probably right around $3k...their prices are awesome and their work is fabulous...she throws in a lot of extra freebies. FM me for details.

I reccommend FBB his work is beautiful and creative and he will not stop until you are happy! I had a few mishaps on my day (nothing major) but everything else was breathtaking-especially my Bo-k's I loved them all so much!! You can see pictures of his work in my album! Good Luck!
