Re: NWR: NYC Teachers did you have to
I had an email from NYC Dept of Ed. It gave me a website and an access code and the email stated to take the online interview. It was an invitation to take this 'interview' It asked questions such as 'Is teaching the MOST important career?' Strong Disagree Disagree Neutral Agree STrongly Agreethey were all fashioned that way. It took me about 25/30 minutes to get through and was very easy but strange.

That's new.... I never heard of that and I did not have to do that. another stupid creation frrom the dysfunctional board of ed.my recommendation to you is contact specfic schools and research them on your own and contact the schools directly.... often times the principal does the direct hiring. i walked right into my school in july, said i was interested and was hired directly by the principal. if you wait for the administration at Court St. to place you, you will end up not knowing where you are going until september, or you'll be on a grade level or certification you are not comfortable with, etc.

Karen absolutely has the right idea! Once a principal wants to hire you the payroll secretary will do much of the paperwork! (or computer work)Do you have a file #???? Thst is one of the MOST important things you are going to need to be hired by a principal.

Re: NWR: NYC Teachers did you have to
I'm teaching for three years and i didn't fill anything like that out. I agree that it is so important to go to the schools yourself and give your resume to the principals. That is what i did to get my job. Good Luck!

Re: NWR: NYC Teachers did you have to
My FH had to fill in the online interview - questions are kinda rediculous - and they tell you you have 20 seconds to answer them. Also, if you click the wrong one by mistake, you can't go back and change it!Not exactly sure what they think they are going to get out of that questionaire - I know they're shooting for character, but it's really easy to cheat the system!
