FH heads up a bike store and he just received a call from Trek inviting him to a networking type of event. Apparently, it's a big honor to be invited to this thing and a good opportunity for him to meet some of the head honchos at trek.

BUT, this starts on August 18, which is when we're do back from Hawaii. So in order to go, we'd need to switch our tickets (at no cost to us). I'd be going with FH and apparently he thinks we'll be babied, but I'm upset that he wants to do this when we're supposed to be enjoying the last tidbit of our honeymoon (we land on a Friday and return to work on Monday.)

Nothing is definate but still, I don't know how I feel about this.... I think just the fact that FH is considering this bothers me.

How would you feel?

I don't know... he is not cutting in to your HM time. It obviously means a lot to him, Idon't think its such a big deal.
The only thing I would be concerened about is how EXHAUSTED you are going to be- not that he wants to do this.

hmmm, it's tough.. I would probaly be sad a bit, but if this is as important as you say it is for him, and a big honor to be invited then I would be happy for your husband and support him on it. Who knows, you might have an enjoyable experience, but this is JMO.

If it had to cut my HM short by a few days, then I think I would be upset. But since it was the end of your HM and you were due back that day anyway, I would not be upset. And the fact that you said this is a huge honor for him, I would be ok with it. Relationships and marriage's are about compromise, and you are definitely seeing that right in the beginning! At least you will both be together at the event!

I think the long term benefits exceed the couple of days you'll have to compromise your honeymoon. Think of it this way - this could be a really fun, unique oportunity for both of you! You guys have the rest of your lives to vacation and spend time alone. If this is going to help him professionally I wouldn't be too upset if I were you. Plus, it doesn't hurt to have some things taken care of on the company dime

How many days would need to be cut off of your honeymoon? Where is the convention?

I would say do it, it's the end of your honeymoon and he's bringing you with him! I'd be mad if FH was cutting short our honeymoon to do something and not bringing me with him but, since you would be going too, I think it is a good opportunity.

If it's not cutting into your HM really, do it. It could be a great opportunity for your future together.

we're talking hours, not days, right? I would say go for it!!! It sounds like fun - and a nice opportunity for you guys! Remember... a nice opportunity for HIM means a nice opportunity for you as a couple! You're a 'WE' now! And it could be fun!!

I think that it's a great opportunity for your FH and you should go. Think about it as an extended vacation for you!!

If it's really important to him then I would compromise and go. After everything that I asked FH to do and compromise for me for the wedding day, I'd owe it to him!

I hate to add salt to your wound, but I would be mad especially when it is cutting into the HM.

Support him and go he will appreciate you for it and thats a good way to start your marriage
