Table Numbers with Names Question

Table Numbers with Names Question

If you are naming your tables after names, like I am doing wine names, how will the guests know where that table is? I would hate to have my guests have to go to every table to see the names on the tables. My only thought was to have a table chart on the card table. Any thoughts?

You can have the number next to the wine name. I had considered doing something like this but never got around to it and that is what I was going to do.

I have seen this done.... you should put the name of the table, i.e. Chardonnay, on the placecard with their name. then they just walk to the Chardonnay table. i don't think you need to worry about numbers.

Won't there be mass confusion if 200 people are trying to find their table. I love the idea, but am nervous it might be a hassle. A fellow LIW bride suggested alphabetical order, but the room is divided into two sides.

it worked out fine at my sisters wedding, we did names and not numbers, everybody found thier table with no problem....she had 150 people...

I don't think many halls have their tables numbered in a sensible way anyway, so guests looking for names won't be any different. My tables are numbered very weird...doesn't make sense to me.

we went to a wedding a few years ago that had baseball park names for tables, no numbers. it was not too confusing to find our table and we enjoyed wandering and looking at the other table names.

are you doing a wine theme? or just doing that ? im giving out wine bottles but have a fall/monogram theme. is that overdoing it? i love that idea for wine names

I am doing a Tuscan Vineyard theme. You would not believe the centerpieces I am getting. They are a Preston Bailey imitation called Autumn Feast. They are filled with grapes, apples, pears and autumn flowers - amazing. That's how we picked the favors - wine bottles. Each guest is getting that type of wine that they are sitting at. It's been fun tasting all different wines from all around the world.
