Inexpensive but nice reception site???

Well, after countless hours of reviewing our financial position, my FH and I don`t see how we can afford any of the sites that we have looked at. They all seem to be in a $65-$85/head range, not including tax & gratuity (@140 guests). I`m heartbroken because I want to have a wedding, but don`t want to go broke doing it! We also agreed that we wouldn`t take out a loan, so I don`t know what options are left (we`re paying for it ourselves). Does anyone have any recommendations? I would truly appreciate any advice!

Inexpensive but nice reception site???

I would reccomend Captain Bill's in Bayshore on the water. La Grange Inn in West Islip. or Crest Hollow in Woodbury. Hope this helps with your budget. If you need any more info let me know.

Inexpensive but nice reception site???

Have you considered a Knights of Columbus or VFW Hall, if you decorate it nicely, and get a great caterer, and a great entertainment company, the price will be a lot cheaper, yet it will still be nice. You might also want to think about having it at a relatives house, if anyone has a big backyard. You can set up a full tent, and even put in a removable wood floor. Then set up a place to put a dj, and you have your own private catering hall. This is a very nice idea, and the relative that gets to be host will probably be thrilled, to have been chosen to help.
