hyatt in aruba having construction!! where would you go if... UPDATE!!!

the construction is too much??? we are booked for the hyatt for 8 nights 9 days..and ta told us there will be contstruction but it should be too bad.

i just read some trip advisor reviews saying the construction is soo noisy you can hear jackhammers even at the pool!!! omg!!!

i emailed ta about asking for construction updates and if its true that they are discounting the price of rooms due to inconvience.

BUT now i am wondering if i should just switch to another hotel!! i want peace and relaxation on my first trip with fh and my one and only honeymoon!!!

what place would you stay at if not the hyatt ( if you hve been to aruba)

or what would you do...? just switch hotels to avoid issues or stick it out and get a discount hopefully?

feeling kinda sad ... been looking sooooooo forward to this!1 i havent had a vacation since i was 17!! eeks!!

xoxo

UPDATE!!

so after talking to ta..radisson is booked and bucatti is too much $ so we booked the mariott... at least we shouldnt have a problem with bad bad noise now!!! thanks for listening everyone!

Re: hyatt in aruba having construction!! where would you go if...

i would switch! you want to relax on your HM and you definitely want to stress about it between now and then!!!

we went to aruba for our HM and stayed in the low rise section at the Bucuti Beach Resort. it was awesome! right on the beach, no kids, and closer to Oranjestad. i highly recommend it!!!!

We were very close to booking the Bucuti Beach Resort in Aruba. It was our 2nd choice, and the best thing about it is no kids and it's away from the hotel zone, so it's quieter.

Also it's supposedly set on the best beach in Aruba.

Jen,
Switch hotels babe! The last thing you want is the potential for a wakeup call of hammers.

go to the bucuti...you KNOW how much research I've done on aruba!

Re: hyatt in aruba having construction!! where would you go if...

We stayed at the Radisson - it's a very nice hotel! If I couldn't stay at the Hyatt, that's where I'd stay. Also, you get to stay on the high rise strip (down from the Hyatt), where there are some great restaurants and the beach is great too.

Re: hyatt in aruba having construction!! where would you go if...

i just back tonite from aruba. and the construction at the hyatt is a lot. sorry to be honest, but DH and I couldnt figure out how to get to the casino from the back entrance, it was that much construction. we stayed at the radisson and we loved it. we took a walk to the hotels in the area and the radisson had what we wanted. the wyndam is no longer the wyndym, but the aruba beach and resort (i forget the exact name).

i cannot say enough nice things about the radisson, DH and I loved it.

Re: hyatt in aruba having construction!! where would you go if...

seems like the raddison might be sold out..bucatti is too expensive (tara suites)and i heard ( rumor?) that the marriot has TONS of kids that stay there?? wyndam is going thru new ownership....

i dont know!!!!!

i really feel like crying........this honeymoon was/is fh's and i first real vacation together and i had my little ol' heart set on the hyatt, but i know i will cry even more if i hear jackhammers on my hm.

i should not sweat it...bc i am luckyenough to have a honeymoon....but i really have been busting my cajones saving for this wedding/honeymoon and i need for my sanity to have a peaceful trip.

ok i should go to bed before i drive myself crazy. i will be on the phone with ta first thing in teh morning if she is in this monday!

ty!!!!!

Re: hyatt in aruba having construction!! where would you go if...

I was just at the Marriott hotel in January. It is connected to their Marriot Timeshare (which means more pools, bars, and eating facilities). You have access to all of them. When I was there they were getting ready to open their new high rise Marriott timeshare next to the existing one (I think April 2006 it would open). The property they have is huge and at no time did I see large amounts of kids. I was there with my fiance (then boyfriend) and another couple. We had an awesome time! We loved it so much we are going back next month.
