Spinoff to Minimum Count... kinda
I plan on having a REALLY small wedding ...REALLY small!
I don't think I will have even 100 guests because a good portion of my family lives out of state and Rob's family is pretty small. Most of the people attending will be just friends.
I have been really thinking about different venues and was wondering if there are any venues that are just TOO big. I don't want to have 80 - 100 people wandering around a giant hall. I mean we were at a wedding at Swan Club.. and it was BEAUTIFUL... but the room we were in was HUGE and I can't imagine what it would have looked like with a smaller number of people... probably pretty ridiculous!
So.. any halls I should just 'write off'?
Thanks!

Check out Stewart Manor Country Club. their minimum is only 100 people AND you're the only wedding! it's a nice place and it's not so huge you'll feel lost with only 100 people.

Re: Spinoff to Minimum Count... kinda
I went to a wedding at the meadow club in port jeff....it was a smaller wedding (we were actually only invited b/c so many poeople pulled out at the last minute and they had to meet a minimum) and we didn't feel lost in the room. They did have a buffett though and that was set up in one area, but worth taking a look at. And even with the smaller party, they still got the separate cocktail hour room!!!

I am having my wedding in the oak room of the jericho terrace with a minimum of 75, and i was told it only holds 100 so it is not big at all and it is away from the other rooms so you feel like it is a little private

Re: Spinoff to Minimum Count... kinda
i looked at atlantica, east wind, vineyard caterers, harrison house/glen cove mansion, and they were all able to accomodate a smaller wedding without the rooms feeling empty. good luck with your search!fyi- we booked vineyard caterers, and i would rec to anyone who wants a smaller more intimate wedding

I have the same problem, look at westbury manor, Def. look at West Sayville CC its at lessings.com, they gave me 50 person minimum, and u didnt give them a final head count till the day b4 so if anyone backed out at last min. u don't have to pay for them!! Also look at fox hollow the winter garden room.. Also if your having a hard time meeting minimums, I noticed that fridays and sundays have lower and also sat afternoons.. hope it helps good luck!

try milleridge. they have 2 separate bldgs. 1 for small parties and 1 for large.ETA:
when we looked there, they told us their smaller bldg can have a maximum of 110 people comfortably

Re: Spinoff to Minimum Count... kinda
check out larkfield manor in east northport, we are having a small wedding, around 80 or so guests. the rooms are not too huge that any of them would feel lost in, and they worked with us on a fair minimum they we knew we could probably meet. they had an awesome food tasting btw.
