past Brentwood Country Club Brides.. please HELP

I am getting married at The Brentwood Country Club in October of 07. I am having alot of reservations about the Photographer offered by the BCC. I have heard so many negatives things about them and I am not sure if I should consider another photographer. Has anyone had any experience with HILITE Studios?? If so do you have any pics or any info you can share from your experience.

no we were told that we would get a credit if we do not use a vendor. We are going to BCC on Thursday night for a showcase. I am going to make sure that we will get a credit.

I recently was at my friends house and her friend had stopped by. They got married there last year and had a horrible experience with the photographer. She said her pictures were terrible and that the photographer was rude and arrogant. They requested a roll of Black and whites and when they got there proofs back the black and white photos were used on table shots. I would have been so mad. I have heard people say that they had an awesome experience with them. I am sure it is everyone's personal taste. I am just nervous about using them now. I want to be confident that I am using a good photographer on my day.

I am definitely going to speak with Scott on Thursday night about what happens if you do not use a vendor. Maybe I misunderstood what he was saying.

Scott told me the price of the vendor that you don't use comes off your package price. I am actually going down there today to make my first payment (whooohooo) and I will ask him again. I'll let you know later.

There's a Brentwood CC thread on the '06 board that many of us have posted on, including the different reviews we've gotten on the various vendors.

I'm getting married next month and having my wedding at BCC, and every qualm I have had from the different vendors, I have actually discussed with them, so they know what I am concerned about and what my expectations are of them.

It is true that if you don't want to use a certain vendor, you will get a credit, but I believe it's only $500, but you can confirm that with Scott when you speak with him.

In all the times that I have gone to Hi-Lite to meet with them (3 times now), I've always dealt with Mark. He's been wonderful to work with and he's written notes on everything I have requested and want for my day of.

a friend of mine got married last year there, and used Hi-Lite. i don't know the name of their guy, but he was VERY unprofessional. he was drunk by the middle of the wedding, and actually GOT HIGH. (and i know this is true, cause one of the guys in the BP actually got HIGH with him) the photographer actually said: 'i take better pics stoned'

his pics came out so-so. you could tell that the person was not very focused when taking the pics.

Okay, I was at BCC today to make a payment and asked Scott...he said if you don't use something the cost comes off. Say the limos, $500 comes off. You don't pay for it anyway. What was funny, while I was asking him this, he got a text from someone who told him to check out LIW.com cuz we were talking about him! How funny, right. I told him, nothing bad, we were just asking ??? I thought it was funny.
So don't worry, if you don't use something, the cost of that vendor comes off.

So I wanted to let everyone know that I went to the BCC tonight for the showcase and I fell in lve with the place all over again. I spoke with the photographer and I have decided to at least go down to there office and give them a chance.

Keep us posted. I still have concerns. I do want to talk to them as well, but I want to keep my options open. FH and I talked about it, and decided if we have to splurge a little to get an awesome photographer, then we will. We want the pics to come out great, cuz it's not like you can re-do them.

After seeing everything that is offered in all the packages we are probably going to upgrade every vendor except the videographer. I love everything the package has to offer, but I do not want to settle I know the upgrades do add up, so i guess only time will tell.
