Need your prayers, ladies - UPDATE on pg. 2 - I'm home!!

I have been going back and forth with doctor visits left and right since June, and now all the bad news hits at once.

1. My blood sugar is dangerously high. I'm almost at the borderline of diabetes. So now I have to make sure I have no sugar and very little carbs.

2. My cholesterol is slightly above normal and my good cholesterol is low. (I've been eating too many egg sandwich wraps lately, damn it.)

3. I already knew about my gallbladder problems since 2004. I have tried to watch what I eat as a result. However the past few months I've been having minor attacks. My PCP sends me to a consult with the surgeon today and BAM I am now scheduled to have the gallbladder removed tomorrow at 3pm.

While I knew this was coming, it still makes me uneasy. The idea of someone going into my intestines makes me nervous. Please pray that all goes well tomorrow.

Oh Janna, I'm so sorry this is all happening. Of course you're in my prayers.

If you need to talk about the no sugar, low carb thing, let me know. That's what the doctors put me on 6 months ago and I feel like I could've used someone to talk to during the transition. I have a ton of recipies and ideas when you're up and about.

Just know that tomorrow is something good for you!! It's for the best!

Oh, this really *****! So sorry this is happening.

As you know, my DH has juvenile diabetes. It is a totally different ballgame from what is happening to you, but one similarity is that you should monitor your blood sugar on your own, as often as possible. DH probably has all kinds of info, maybe even some little tips and tricks, about avoiding the hidden sugars in foods, etc. But we'll think about all that a little later!

My sister had her gallbladder removed about 5 years ago, everything went fine! good luck!

Janna I am so sorry all this is going on!

I know what it is like to have diabetes as both my parents have it. It is tough to first start to diabetic diet, but in the end, it is all worth it!
