Anyone Having Dresses Made???

I had a crazy thought about having BM dresses handmade. ANyone do this? Good idea, bad idea? How about a ballpark price? Or a recomendation for someonte to use?

My friend did this for her wedding (it was OOT though so I can't help you with the place/price).

The plusses were that the dress fit everyone perfectly, the place we went to included alterations in the price and it was very affordable.

The minuses were that the style wasn't what my friend asked for and the color was also different than what she asked for.

So if you do this, make sure you have a specific idea in mind and a specific color. The dresses we had were yellow and she wanted a pale yellow and well, the dresses were big bird yellow. It ended up working out nicely since it was bright in pictures.

theres great desginer in New HYde Park - Mario Ramo Couture. I went there because I am hating all the BM dresses im seeing, the starting price for a custom dress is around $400 which sounds really high, but i guess if you consider the avg dress price plus alterations, its around the same figure.
