How far is Penn Station from Chelsea piers in NYC? I am planning on cabbing it..

its not too bad but its halfway across town which is annoying. my Fh is a cop in the 10th in which the piers are located and he usually walks to and from penn from there.

Penn Station is on 31-33 bet 7 and 8

Chelsea Piers is from 18-23 on West Side HW/11th Avenue

Not too far...south maybe 10 blocks but all the way over to the west side.

Not far via cab or crosstown bus but, a pain to walk to since it's all the way on the other side of the West Side Highway!

I agree - I would cab it, but it is not bad at all!

A cheaper alternative is to take the A train from Penn Station towards Brooklyn- it's 1 stop- get off at 14th Street (it leaves you off at 8th Avenue, but if you get on the front of the train it will leave you closer to 16th street).

Thanks anyways ladies.. I WAS going to get tickets for a cruise dinner tonight for my FH's Birthday tomorrow evening BUT they are WAY out of my budget right now.. oh well on to plan b.. lol something less expensive and on the Island. Probably will just do dinner but I wish I could find something creative to do here on LI....
