Repost from 07 - What do i wear to my engagement shoot?

We're taking our engagement pics next Friday at Central Park and the videographer will also be there to record a few scenes to include on our wedding video. I'm really excited but also sooo confused about what to wear. I know FH and me don't have to match perfectly but at the same time we can't clash. FH is set on wearing his new red Lacoste with jeans so what do u girls suggest I wear? I need all the help I can get!

Since it's in the park you don't want to look too dressy...I think a nice pair of jeans with like a summer kind of top with some sandles.

I'd say a similar colored jeans as your FH and a top that not necessarily matchs him but at leasts compliments his red shirt.

I would suggest casusal. Jeans and shirts that compliment each other.

i've also heard that it's good to wear a shirt with sleeves - short, long, mid, t-shirt, whatever - b/c even the skinniest arms can look unflattering if the way the arm rests and the angle of the camera don't coincide. i think this is most true when it's casual shots, such as e-pics.

wow i didn't even think of that and believe it or not i have this 'problem' - i have what my FH likes to call olive oil arms lol I was planning to wear a tank top or halter but now that u mention it i think i might go with a short sleeved tee instead. Thanks for the tip!

I stressed so much about this as well.

Just wear what you normally wear when you are hanging out with FH.

now that i think of it, why dont you go with a polo shirt? I know he has a red shirt but
maybe the both of you can wear white polo shirts

Yeah but if your arms will be showing in your wedding gown....don't you want to see how they photograph before the big day??? Isn't that the point of the e-shoot...to see how you photograph? If my arms are showing in my wedding gown...I want them to show here too.

ugh u make another good point. This is gonna be hard I have a strapless dress for the wedding so you make a valid point about seeing how my arms look in these pictures.
well atleast i narrowed it down to 2 colors girls - either a black shirt or a cream shirt (think the cream complements the red nicely). I'll post what I came up with after I go to the mall this weekend. Thanks for all the tips

i would also say something that is not too trendy. think of what you think when you see pics of your parents in the 70s shots. lol. something like a solid polo would be great.

i remember a girl posting on here once that you should only wear really dark jeans because if you wear lighter jeans they come out like acid wash in the black and white pictures. . .i forgot who posted it though!
