RSVP that broke my heart...UPDATE

last night i got home to my very welcomed rsvp envelopes. there were three. the first one... accept; the second... accept; the third.................... i see my uncle's handwriting, and for a moment i get REALLY EXCITED, i then see that he marked... decline

i IMMEDITATELY broke down and cried. i mean CRIED, i broke down!

this man helped raise me. he's like a second father to me. my son's middle name is after him. he won't be at my wedding.

i've been crying since. i don't know what to do, i'm so heartbroken

I'm so sorry.

I'm assuming because he's such an important person in your life that he MUST have a good reason. Why don't you call him and see what it is.

ladies, thank you for replying.

i'm thinking of waiting until i'm not a mess to call him. i don't want to sound like a 'crazy emotional bride' when i call, because i want to be understanding to whatever he might say

I'm so sorry. I know how dissapointment hurts. Yes, it's a good idea to wait until you are not a mess. Also, maybe rehearse some things to say before you call him. I know if I do that b4 I speak to someone there is less chance of a breakdown.

sorry to hear that, i can imagine how that feels :(
definitely find out what's going on, if you're too distraught to call him, then call someone like your parents who may know why he's not coming.

Call him or ask another relative, however you do it find out the reason asap, maybe something can be done about it.

I have not sent out any invites, but I want everyone there, so I would be devastated if they did not come. There are some thing we have to learn to except even if it hurt. Stay strong and were here for you.

i'm sure he has a reason, but i'm sorry you have to deal with this. maybe you can include in in other ways (ie, helping out, going to the rehersal dinner) if he can't come b/c of a conflict or something like that.
