Pre Cana Question...

FH and I were going to sign up for a Sat/Sun 9-3pm pre-cana... but it was $250.. we thought it was a bit pricey??

Is that ball park or is that just too high??

Re: Pre Cana Question...

We paid $155 last year through the Archdiocese of NY but, this year the prices are $195 since it's now a 2 day program.

It's less expensive usually if you do it through your church as opposed to through the diocese.

Re: Pre Cana Question...

That is what I was told too
But that is only if you go outside your parish

I was going to do that but then when we went to the FOCUS session - they told us Pre Cana is only 4 nights - I thought it was 6 or 8

I don't feel like spending another $250 just to get it over with in one weekend

But I don't think there are a lot of choices you have so I think $250 is it

It is thru Rockville Centre.. I just don't want to go thru 4-6 weeks worth of classes or whatever it is thru my church (which by the way, I don't know how much it costs).. I feel like we should just go and get it done with..

I am just shocked at how expensive it is

Re: Pre Cana Question...

What you have to pay for it??? I am paying enough for the church. I really didn't know that. Getting married at my RH would be much cheaper.

Re: Pre Cana Question...

We had to pay $150 and I think the money went mostly towards food. They fed us 3 meals each day plus snacks and dessert.

We didn't pay anything for our pre-cana, with church saying that our offering was part of it.

OUrs was $50 but it was in the homes of couples in the parish. I think it is more for the weekend ones.

We paid $65 through our church. We were told if we did it through anyother means it would be a more money.

Re: Pre Cana Question...

we paid $75 to our church. and unfortunatly, its just one of those things were you have one or two options.

i think the $250 is high, but you're payng for the convenience of doing it in 2 days. we went for 4 weeks and i would have much rather gotten it over with in 2 days.
