Florist question for Royalton Brides

Hey everyone,

I am posting this question for a friend who is having a function at The Royalton. She wanted to know if you are going to use a florist that they recommend? If so, will you be using Stephan's or Spitz & Peck Florist?

She also mentioned to me that in her contract at The Royalton, states if she brings in an outside vendor (florist) that the hall does not recommend, that florist has to pay the hall approximately $1500? Have any of you heard of this before?

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks in advance girls.

Re: Florist question for Royalton Brides

Yes, they basically require that you use one of those two florists. It didnt used to be like that, but it is now. I am using Stefans--both of the florists are within the price range of other florists though--they are not more expensive, despite what other people have said. They were the same price as Burtons who is known for being cheaper. Price is negotiable. I told them everything I wanted and then when they gave me a price I told them that that was above my budget and they ended up giving me the same stuff for my budget. It actually made it kind of easy because I didnt have to visit a million different florists--although it is annoying to not have complete choice over who you go with.

Re: Florist question for Royalton Brides

HI -
I am using Stefan's--
I heard that they do a wonderful job.
I only went to see them once so far and did not bring him any of the zillion pictures of flowers that I have collected so he said he would make me a sample centerpiece and then we can change it from there.
I met with Josh & he was very nice. They are a bit above my price budget for flowers but i guess I have no choice because I am getting married at Royalton.

Re: Florist question for Royalton Brides

We met with Maddie at Spitz and Peck and then Paul at Stefan's. It wasn't even close for us - we chose Stefan's. Maddie was nice enough, but she just didn't 'get it' when we tried to communicate what we wanted. For instance, I told her I wanted a very natural look and the next thing she showed me was a bouquet with crystals in it. She seemed to want to give us the same ho-hum arrangements that she does at every wedding.

Paul at Stefan's was fantastic. He immediately understood our vision and was extremely knowlegeable about flowers and color and what works in the Royalton. I highly recommend him. He's a floral designer first, a salesman, second.

No, not yet. Paul knows what we want, but we're waiting to have our appointment to see what he comes up with so we can make any adjustments if we need them. I can't wait.

Have you picked yours yet?

I don't believe she found a florist yet. I don't even think she started looking. LOL...
