heavy dress? (also cap sleeved dress ladies)

Were all you girls able to walk ok? i know that sounds funny but on my second fitting i decided to get with a a-line slip and the dress is now so very heavy. when she bustled it up i barely felt as if i could walk, i felt the thing weighed more than i did. am i going to survive? sorry this is just really stressing me out now.
also i picked capped sleeves i cant' even raise my arms, that will be a problem, i was so dead set against strapless but now i know why everyone picks it.

Re: Weird question about dress and the day...

I had a hoop crinoline for this very reason. I did not want something to cling to my legs all day loing in the middle of August.

I just adjusted the hoops to fit my A-line dress.

I had an 'off the shoulder' dress. They did not want to make them fit to my arms... Long story!

I told her I was not going to play basketball and I did not see a reason to raise my arms. DH is not that much higher than me.

Re: Weird question about dress and the day...

Well, I can't help you with the walking part. Although now you've given ME something else to stress out about! LOL.
My sister had the Maggie dress Felicity with the cap sleeves. So pretty! They were attached with snaps, so she wore them for the ceremony and the bulk of the pictures. Then she unsnapped them and just went strapless for the reception.

(Funny story - we were all lined up getting ready to be introduced, and my sister realized she still had the sleeves on. So we unsnapped her - what to do with them? My cousin (a BM) grabbed the sleeves and stuck them down her cleavage just in the nick of time!! Looking back, I have no idea why we didn't just give them to the bridal attendant!)

Re: Weird question about dress and the day...

I was fine throughout the whole day, but as soon as the music stopped my hips were killing me and actually hurt for a couple days after. My ribs also hurt for a couple of days later. I wore a strapless gown, but had strap put on for the reception and never had to worry about my dress falling down (although it was fit perfectly so I dont think it would have moved) and i did not fumble with it the whole night.

were the hoops a pain in the a$$ when you sat down? I'm afraid of that!

Not at all. You just have to know how to seat.

Technique:
You lift the back of your dress (and the crinoline) before you seat.

Well, I have a mermaid dress with an off the shoulder neckline... I can't really pick up my arms & the dress is very fitted so I can't walk like I normally do. I have no advice, since my wedding is not for another 3 weeks, I'm just letting you know your not alone!
