In your experience, who has paid for the bridal showers you have been apart of?

For my shower, my mother paid for it. For my sister's shower her BM paid for the decorations and my mother and I paid for the catering.

For my shower, my mom paid for mostly everything. My MOH paid for the invitations and mailing and the favors for the guests.

combo. i think my girls each gave around 100$ my mom and another bm paid more into it.

others mothers paid just paid for decorations,invitations, mailing, favors.

one, I didn't pay for anything, her mom paid for the whole thing.

mine, my MOH paid for it.

another one I was a part of a few months ago, the BMs paid for most of it - I contributed $150.

I've been in 2 wedding where the bridal party paid for the entire thing.

For my sister's shower, I paid more than the rest of the bms, but the bms paid for it.

My MIL paid for my SIL's shower but I used the money I would have spent on the shower to purchase lots of presents. I also helped with the games, etc.

For the weddings I've been in, it's been a combination of Bride's mother alone or with BP. For mine, my father, FMIL, and BP paid.

I only know about my own shower. My mom paid for the bulk of it, then my BMs asked what they could contribute and my mom asked them to each give her an equal amount. My grandma paid extra so we could have the champagne punch, and then she had a good time drinking it!!

Bride's Mother

My mother paid for my shower, as well as my three sisters' showers.

I believe my MIL paid for my SIL's shower when she got married.

And last wedding I was in for a friend (4 years ago), the bride's mother paid. She actually refused to take money from me since none of the other bridesmaids offered to help pay.

For all the weddings I've been involved in the bride got 2 showers...the mom alone threw one for the family and then the BP threw a more intimate joint shower/bachelorette party event (Atlantic City weekend, DC weekend, Winery tour) and all the attendees (except the bride of course) split expenses roughly evenly...

ETS - in each of these cases, the bride and BP lives far from the family and didn't attend the mom thrown shower...

etiquette books state that the mother of the bride should NOT host the shower. 'it comes across as a plea for gifts.'

that being said. i've seen all the combos possible.

mine... my moh hosted/paid for it all, except the small containers for the centerpieces... i already had those.
