Engagement pic dilema

Okay so today we met with a potential photographer......He does take engagement pics....FREE......
Well FH says we dont need one.........I say we dont need one but it would be nice to have......
Then he goes on to say how we have so many pics of the 2 of us together blah blah blah
Im kind of p@ssed bc I want an engagement pic........but I guess I can do without it.
Did all of you ladies get an engagement pic taken?

Re: Engagement pic dilema

My photographer takes them for free if you book two photographers. We booked a second photographer to take photofournalistic pics. I want them bc I am making my own guest sign in book and I think it would be nice to have only the e-pics in them. It makes it a nice photo album.

Re: Engagement pic dilema

Yes...and this is what I said...it's to see how well the photographer takes pics of you guys and to see if, in fact you do actually like his style. And it's FREE...what do you ever get for FREE? NOthing! And it's the only pics we actually have control over so we want to take them at the beach so we have the liberty of picking a nice day and going...it may not be nice on our wedding day.

I agree-I think it's nice to have them-it's more relaxed pics than on your wedding day.

Re: Engagement pic dilema

We got them done and our photographer did them for free also. FH didn't want them but I insisted. Now, FH can say that he is so happy to have gotten them taken. He looks at the pictures all the time and the photo session was SO fun! Plus, it was a great way to practice with the photographer and get use to his style when directing you. I think that you should get them if you can convince FH. They are nice to hold on to as memories.

Re: Engagement pic dilema

gee - do you have my FH by any chance???? We had the same problem - I wanted engagement pics when we first got engaged (not knowing photographers do them free) but he said no because we have a million pics of us together already. I really wanted to use it for our STD's but we compromised and instead took some really nice Christmas pics with our own camera on Christmas and agreed to use those instead. However, now that the photographer is taking pics free - he doesn't have a problem with it Men are so difficult sometimes!!!
