Another engagement ring?

Did anyone get/will get another engagement ring? Mine is a family ring (my side) and I wanted it BECAUSE it's a family ring.

But, I found another (inexpensive) ring that I LOVE and was hoping to get as an anniversary gift one year. Has anyone else done that?

I dont want another e-ring-
DH bought designed it with the jeweler-and saved $$$ for it, and we both love it!

Maybe down the road I would like an anniversary band...or something with stones...

Right now I am hoping for diamond studs (christmas possibly)

I wouldn't call that another e-ring, it would just be an anniversary gift.

My e-ring is also a family heirloom (also my side) and I cherish it, but I understand you kinda wanting something new, that's your very own. For me my w-ring takes care of that, but I don't see anything wrong with your DH buying you another ring for your anniversary; I just think calling it another e-ring would 1) make your actual e-ring lose meaning and 2) may hurt your DH's feelings.

Funny you should mention this b/c Im going through the exact opposite. DH bought me my very own ering that he picked out. MIL is now saying she always wanted me to have HER ering....Dont know why this was never mentioned before but shes pretty upset and wants me to have it.

My is very unique and i dont wanna change it so, Im gonna just take her ring as is instead of changing my diamond to hers and have 2 erings....

Sorta makes it extra special i think to have a family ring and a ring of your very own...JMO though...
