favor ideas ( i need some feed back ladies)

Anyone have any ideas for favors?
I was just reading about this couple that instead of given favors they donated the money to the cancer society and gave their guess a pink braclet some mints and a card and the card it explained the whole donation for favor theme. I thought that was nice, but my fh said it's nice but not for a wedding. GIVE ME SOME FEED BACK LADIES.He keep saying he want to be diffrent and I'm trying to show him diffrent and he don't want it. I don't know.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Many people in my family died of cancer (my aunt last month) and FHs grandfather has it and probably won't live to be at the wedding. So I was thinking of doing it with the yellow bracelets. But most people in my family are skeptics. They think there is a cure and the government isnt letting it out.. blah blah blah, so i dont know if its a good idea for the wedding favors. If you want to make a donation. Maybe make a smaller one on the side without making it a focal point of the wedding.

i am doing donation favors ...i just think that some people could care less about the favor anyway (some just leave it there or throw it out ) so why not do somethng that can benefit people ...we are going to donate to...colon cancer, lung cancer, and heart disease

We're doing donation favors. It's definitely appropriate for weddings. Think of it this way. How many weddins have you and your FH been to where you've taken the favor home just to throw it out or let it collect dust? I'd rather take the $$ I would spend on favors that no one would use and that have no meaning and instead give it to a charity. IMHO.

hmmm i kno its been done but what about the wine bottle with a label that announces you marriage...or champagne bottles that do the same...


thats pretty cool.if he doesnt want to do the donation thing.

Thank you ladies maybe all do both. Take have the money and donate and take the other have and buy favor. Not everyone takes them any way.

we have a while to decide but we are probably going to donate money. he is a school psych and I'm a spec ed teacher so we prob donate to an autism foundation.


You sould pick something that is meaningful to the both of you. We always feel that people don't use the stuff they get so we'd rather it go to a good cause.

I was going to to the donation thing, but FMIL said, "thats nice, but I like favors" I was thinking lavender sachets would be nice and romantic, since the favor is really for the woman, the man could care less. The scent of lavender promotes "love" in the bedroom. When I told one of my BM, she said that would be nice for the bridal shower, but not the wedding. So now I dont know what to do.

What about bottle opener keychains with your name and date......Very practical for the men! Then you can do the donation thing and give the pink bracelet (breast cancer awareness) to the ladies!

That is a great idea! Good thinkin' lincoln!

I like your lavender satchel favor idea... it's mostly for the ladies and they could put it in their lingerie drawer so I think I agree with your BM prob better for the bridal shower.....

The best favor I ever got was the heart wine bottle stopper, it's weighty and cute and so practical!!!

I thought about doing a donation myself, but I thought it was kinda cheap to just do that instead of giving something out. My mom is battling lung cancer right now and I'm kind of torn...

On one hand it would be nice to make a donation and do something positive with the $$...on the other, you don't want to make people sad or add a somber tone to the reception...plus some greedy chumps are gonna get pissed that they are sans a goody bag

Depending on how much you are willing to spend, you can always give a picture frame with either a pic of the person in whos honor you want to make the donation or even a simple statement that a donation has been made in someone's honor to whatever foundation....or you can just hand out little cards. sometimes if you speak with the rep they may be willing to provide you with something

I dunno...good luck. I still like the idea of the wine topper personally. It won't break (which you have to worry about with the glass and ceramic things), they're cheap and its cute....plus its something that pleases the masses. Its up to u... I still ahve no idea
