Hi.. Anyone looking at vendors yet??

Hey girls what's going on?? It's been a little quiet on this board lately.. Has anyone started looking into other vendors besides their halls? I'm starting to make a list of the different vendors I want to see based on quotes they gave and recommendations from here.

I have no clue about any other videographers or Photographers. I have a small budget and all the prices I've been quoted have been way out of my range. I love Duet's work but I got a quote yesterday and it's tooo much for me.

Hey Maureen,

I have started to research people and then I will eventually compile a list of people to check out like you. I am going to meet with a photographer in DC this weekend and I am only doing it this early becasue he is flying in from TX to do this wedding and he will not be back to the East Coast until summer 07'. I want to KNOW who my photographer is and book him/her by the end of summer 07'.

Oh my gosh you guys I haven't done anything haha! I can't even make up my mind about what colors I want!

And don't even get me started about how hard it's going to be to pick a reception hall!!

We booked the hall, DJ, florist, photo/video... doing a few other things next month. Have to order my gown already because I want to make sure it doesnt get discontinued.

Do you guys think it' really necessary to book all of these things now? I'm not saying this to be argumentative at all it's just that my FMIL keeps saying that you guys have so much time, why do you have to do everything now, etc. (You should've seen the looks she was giving when FI and I went to check out Jericho Terrace) I think it's a great idea to look and maybe book now so if you girls can give me anything to back up this argument, please let me know! TIA!

I'm looking and booking now because I want to guarantee 2007 pricing. Places will increase their prices year to year and if I book now then I have a guaranteed rate even if the price goes up for 2009

I need to save every penny I can.

I agree with Maureen about pricing. The sooner you book, the less you'll pay!

Honestly, if it weren't for this site, I totally would have waited another year or so to book since I had NO CLUE how much there was to do. It can be done later but you'll feel so much better getting it out of the way so that you can move on to the next steps of planning.

Good luck... I'll be visiting some halls in a few hours with my parents! I'll let you gals know how it goes!
